This can be a fun thread considering the expert knowledge we possess Simply post one fun fact of a comic book first. Amaze your friends with your arcane historical expertise. Who knows, you could be wrong and be gently shamed. I'll begin with: The First Black American Super-Heroine Series-The Butterfly
The Butterfly appeared as a back-up strip in the 2 issues of Hell-Rider magazine from Skywald.Created and written by Gary Friedrich, pencilled by Rich Buckler. John Celardo might have helped with the first story.Hell-Rider was cover dated Aug and Oct 1971

I had bought Hell-Rider back in '71 and was very disappointed it didn't go past issue 2. Skywald then concentrated on their horror mags,Psycho and Nightmare. Gary Friedrich then helped create the new Ghost Rider for Marvel (Aug 1972) ,but here you can see his original inspiration

Other than Superman, who was the first survivor from Krypton? If you answer Krypto you'd be wrong dog gone it Mala and his 2 brothers Kizo and U-Ban appeared in Superman #65 (July/August 1950) in the story "The Three Supermen from Space!" They were nasty guys Jor-El placed in suspended animation and rocketed off planet before he built the Phantom Zone. Talk about the cost of judicial punishment! They awoke, threatened earth,Supes got them to fight each other then tricked them back into the rocket and pressed the snooze button They returned in Action Comics #194 (Jul 1954), cause havoc and tricked again back into the rocket. Krypton's version of the Three Stooges?

I've got one for you. While Marvel was the first to have a Ghost Rider (western version), would you believe that DC Comics' was the first to have an undead biker out for revenge called Ghost Rider? This three-page story appeared in DC Spotlight Showcase #88 in 1970:

Art by Mike Sekowsky.Probably wrote it too.Whats DC Spotlight?
Did you mean DC Showcase and that was a filler story for a Jason's Run issue? (Or rather a take off on the TV show Then Came Bronson)

I've got one for you. While Marvel was the first to have a Ghost Rider (western version) Magazine Enterprises had the first Ghost Rider ("western version"), ca. 1950. Dick Ayers had something to do with it, as I recall.
