Humor I guess, especialy the most quirky one (Angry Youth Comics, Mask, Lloyd Llewellyn), then probably surrealism as well, especialy if you count Jim Woodring and Dave Cooper's stuff.

In the magazine looking comic book format, it would be science fiction.
In the realm of comics overall that includes things like newspaper strips, it would have to be humor.

I like a good detective comic, especially The Maze Agency (a fairplay whodunnit; one of the hardest genres to do in comic form) and Ms. Tree.
I also like Westerns, but the more 'realistic' (insofar as that word can be applied to comics) westerns like Jonah Hex and Bat Lash, rather than Marvel's 'superheroes on horseback'.
And sword and sorcery.

Thinking about it abstractly I find it hard to say, but looking at what I actually have read it was probably horror back in my peak years of comics-reading, the early to mid 70s. That's partly because of the horror-boom that was happening around that time in American comics, but partly my own taste as well - Edgar Allen Poe, HP Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury (almost as much a horror as a science fiction writer), and especially Bram Stoker's Dracula were among my earliest obsessions as a young reader of books.
But in regard to books in general rather than comics, probably science fiction - thinking again in terms of the numbers of what I've actually read. Horror, detective, fantasy, espionage, would all be up there as well.

It's hard to say, cause I like so many genres, but I would say my favorite, though few fit in this category, are non-fiction / historical
