Wuppertal, Germany. Home of the oldest operating monorail system in the world, and the famous Pina Bausch dance theater. Here is the "Schwebahn" passing through the Bayer factory grounds, where Aspirin and heroin were invented. We are so proud.

It is a cool place to live, even if the disappearance of the textiles industry makes the city one of the poorest ones in Germany.

My family used to vacation there all the time when I was young. Years later, I'm still not sure why. Seeing the Amish was kind of cool, and I remember this AMAZING toy train museum, but that was about it. Nice place to live if you like farms & small town lifestyle. Also close to Phila (60 miles away) & Baltimore (70 miles away).

In the middle of Alabama -- Montgomery, to be precise. Montgomery was the first capital of the Confederacy, for a few months before Virginia seceded and the capital was moved to Richmond.
Yep. I'm about 2 miles from the so-called First White House of the Confederacy, which in turn is 3 or 4 blocks from the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church, where Martin Luther King preached & the Montgomery Bus Boycott was planned. A couple of blocks from there is the Southern Poverty Law Center. Talk about a mixed heritage ...

In the middle of a cornfield. My home town is so small it doesn't have a stop light. If it gets one, I'm moving to a smaller town. My hometown is free of stop lights as well, even though it's the largest town in the county (which isn't saying much, given the latter's population of something like 7,000). The old joke about a town being so small it has a triangle, not a square, is quite true in the case of Stamps, Ark.

I am from Massachusetts. Graduated college in Maine. Lived in Houston, TX from 2002-2009, Los Angeles 2009-2010, Dallas, TX 2010-2011 and then back to Houston, TX where this wonderful Saturday morning finds me.
I still consider myself a New Englander top-to-bottom though.
Go Pats!

Port of Spain, Trinidad. I go roller-skating around that park in the background.

At least you're not a resident of Moore, OK (and I never will be) as they proudly advertise being the birthplace of Toby Keith; who has caused more damage to mankind than heroin or aspirin.
