The full solicitations won't be up until Monday, but a few items have been made public. Robin War will see a crossover among many Bat Family titles. Also mentioned is a new Harley Quinn title to get more sales out of DC's second most popular character at the moment. 5 titles have been cancelled and I'm a little surprised by Justice League United being one of them. I wonder if it was a "writer leaving and we can't find someone new so let's just do something else" cancellation. I didn't read the other four so feel free to blame me for their fate.

All 5 are bottom feeders on the sales list, despite some being quality books, so no surprises there. Short leashes are the norm in the austerity regime of the new DC it seems.
The 5 Lobo Omega Men JLU Gotham by Midnight and the self-fulfilling prophecy title: Doomed.
I liked what I saw of Gotham by Midnight but kind of knew as soon as Templesmith was gone it was going to die. I've heard good things about Omega Men (especially from our own Fanboy Stranger) and was considering checking out the first trade, so we will see how it shakes out as collections now.

From the July 2015 Sales Charts
#175 Lobo (cancelled) #174 Prez (ending at issue #6 instead of #12) #150 All-Star Section 8 (miniseries) #147 Omega Men (cancelled) #146 Doomed (cancelled) #139 Gotham by Midnight (cancelled) #138 Bat-Mite (mini series) #129 Midnighter (IT LIVES!) #122 Bizarro (mini series) #120 Justice League 3001 (that this one got a second series and keeps going is a surprise to me) #118 Catwoman (retooled) #116 Gotham Academy (I think DC will try every trick in the book to keep this one going) #115 Secret Six #114 Dr. Fate #113 Sinestro #112 Justice League United (cancelled) #104 Green Arrow #103 Martian Manhunter (this one and Dr. Fate are through just 2 issues and already out of the Top 100)

And now a bit of Breaking News as the solicitations hit... Cancelled titles up to eightJoining the cancellations is Green Lantern: The Lost Army, which is now retroactively a six issue mini series with the fate of the characters left to a future storyline. The other two are digital first comics Batman'66 and Sensation Comics. I'm very sad to see Batman'66 go, but it will have a mini series with The Man From UNCLE for the next six months.

Holy meat and potatoes Batman, what deviltry is this? Back to all grim all gritty DC for the foreseeable future I guess. Makes it easier for their artists, you only need one facial expression. -M

I did not see this coming! ... It is any good? Jeff Parker is writing it, so I'd list the odds at "better than average."

I was massively disappointed at the solicits... no more Sensation Comics... Batgirl sounds like it's going to continue to turn badly... and a stupid Robin crossover that is sucking in Gotham Academy and Teen Titans? Blah. I'll stick with Gotham Academy since my daughter likes it, but the rest are probably toast.
Glad to see they're done with the Brother Eye nonsense in Batman Beyond, but I really don't think I can care about Tim Drake in the future. I think the only think I'm actually excited about is Dick and Kori finally interacting in New 52 land.

On the plus side (for me), none of the titles axed were ones I was getting. But since they can retroactively make ongoing series into minis, how about making Bat-Mite and Bizarro into ongoing series?

A poster commented elsewhere that a DC Spokesman will come out next year and say that the New 52 titles were always designed to go just 52 issues.

I think you're probably kidding, but this wouldn't surprise me in the least. To be honest, I'd be a little surprised if they didn't do something to mark the 52nd issue of the ones that make it.
