Seems like it used to be I'd get an email every day telling me which threads I've participated in had an update, and I liked that because it would remind me to check those threads when I visited the site. For the past several weeks, or maybe months, it seems like I get an email any time any thread gets updated. They're back to back in my inbox when I check my email, sometimes a dozen a day. What happened? Should I just unsubscribe or is there a way to change the frequency they notify me of updates?

I have personally never used this feature, nor do I have any direct control over it. Looking at proboards support, there is currently an issue with the e-mail feature, but it tends to be having the opposite effect of what you describe: "We're currently sorting out issues that are preventing our notification email delivery system from sending every single queued email. It's possible that you're unfortunately suffering from the effects of these problems, in which case nothing was done wrong on your end. If you have an email notification setting enabled you should be receiving those emails so long as everything is working correctly on our end." You may want to chime in on the discussion and inform them of your experience. I found it in my settings under notifications. It was set to "smart" instead of "Daily"
So I guess the frequency of their smart setting changed. All cleared up now

It seems to be an issue occurring across all proboards forums, as I am getting notifications from other proboards sites all of the sudden too. In short, I'm sure proboards is aware of this. If it continues, I'll check in with them and see what's happening. |

dupont2005 ... I got three notifications in the past two days and I just saw this thread pop up and I wanted to say thanks for sharing that with us. I just changed it to smart just now.

It was set to weekly in the notifications settings, but I didn't change those settings; this was more an issue of "Hey those settings have changed again without me doing something" and the last time that happened it was boardwide.
