This week's theme: Genre mashups. Show us your favorite cover combining two different genres. My pick: There are rules - - Post one, and only one, classic cover that fits the theme of the contest. - Cover must be from a published comic book or collected volume published before Jan 1 2005. - Covers must be posted before voting begins. - Voting begins on Tuesday October 6 at 12:01am PST and ends at 11:59am PST. - Vote by posting the name of the poster whose cover best fits the theme or that you simply like the most. - Put the name in bold. Votes not in bold will not count. - The winner of the contest is the entrant with the most votes after the voting period ends. - The winner chooses the theme for the next week's contest. - If you don't think the cover fits the theme, don't vote for it; don't post disparaging remarks about it. If a cover is more recent than the Classic time frame, kindly point it out and the poster can choose an alternate before voting begins. - When posting covers, remember GCD (aka comics.org) doesn't allow hotlinking and if you use them for the source to post your cover, you will see it because it is in your cache, but no one else will be able to see it. Use a source other than the GCD for your image for others to see it.

I searched for Space Western and got this: I think it's amusing that "space" is not one of the two most notable genres on this cover.

Tomahawk 107Frontiersmen... A "Special Guest-Villain" a la the Batman TV show in a cover insert... Modified "Pieta pose"... Go-Go Checks (So-o-o-o 1770's)... Not to mention a gigantic purple gorilla wearing a headband and feather and wielding a bow and arrow! It's like Murray Boltinoff and Bob Brown backed up a truckful of DC cliches and just dumped them onto this cover.

So porn and super heroes on marvel covers qualify, right?
