Moebius LibaryVery exciting news. I have The Incal and the first four Blueberry editions from the old Epic line, all of which I had to buy on ebay. I did get to read a borrowed copy of The Airtight Garage years back, but beyond this, I've been frustratingly unable to get my hands on much else.

Maybe MRP and I are the guys around here who care, but this is massive news. If you care about comics, you care about everything Moebius being in print. No half steppers...

Oh cool. Yeah, Moebius reprints have been frustratingly sporadic in the US. This seems long overdue, but way better late 'n never.

Need to start saving up now. Hardcovers are usually out of my price range (unles sI find them cheap on the secondary market), but for these I will make an exception!

Great news. Is there a French edition of his collected works currently in print, I wonder?

Great news. Is there a French edition of his collected works currently in print, I wonder? Can't say there is an omnibus-style collection, but as far as I know most of the Blueberry books can always be found in bookstores and the Metal Hurlant material is often reprinted. As it should be! Ze Moebius iz ze cat's pyjama, oui?

I've long loved images done by Moebius but other than his Silver Surfer and a few volumes of blueberry I've been unable to track down anything for a decent price. Sounds like that is about to change.

I have the Fear Agent Library Editions and the Empowered Deluxe Editions and the Usagi Yojimbo Sagas. The Usagi Yojimbo ones are slightly more expensive than the other two, which these Moebius ones may be too, but still around $50 at preorder with a signature and a sketch so not bad considering they're like 600 pages and limited to 1500 copies.

I guess I'm spoiled, but as a kid, Giraud used to live in the same small town I did, an dhe came to our class a few times to draw for us, like a showcase. He did a little drawing to all of us who requested it and I still have mine. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan. I like it, don't get me wrong, but I wish he did get to draw stories with great innovative writers. The original Black Incal was fun to read, but not that special on the writing IMHO.

About time someone puts these back into print in English, Moebius is one of the all time greats. I got some PDFs of some of Marvel ones to read a few years back but have been wanting to buy these for myself to have for a few years.
This BBC4 documentary is as good an introduction as any for someone that doesn't know his artwork. Moebius is up with Geiger as one of the great illustrators and influences on science fiction of the last 30-40 years or so.

I'll definitely be saving up for this as well. I seem to have gotten to the point where I'm more interested in collected editions by the critical darlings (Hal Foster, Carl Barks, Moebius, etc.) so I guess I'm becoming comics snob? At least with collected editions. Nah. It is getting harder and harder to justify buying even my favorite Silver and Bronze age Marvel and DC material given that much of it, particularly with Marvel, is now literally at my fingertips online. I think it's simply that the production values of a company like Fantagraphics is so superior to Marvel or DC that I feel like I'm actually doing a good deed by following stuff like those gorgeously reproduced Prince Valiant and Duck's series.

Awesome! I've only seen sporadic pages of his and the artwork is phenomenal, going to be cool to actually read whole stories.
