These Batman family type books are usually fun, I liked eternal a lot as well. How involved was Snyder with Eternal? I REALLY like his Batman run and I generally liked Eternal, but they seemed polar-opposite-y storytelling wise. I believe the way it worked was that Snyder came up with the general plot but only actually wrote the key moments like the beginning, stuff like the introduction of Stephanie and of course the ending with Owlman was pure Snyder.

I'm enjoying this book too so far, which is kind of odd for me as I dislike the modern Batman, and loathe Gordon as Batman(I refuse to read the issues with him as Bats). The interplay between Batman and Robins was well handled last week so Im in for a while at least. Actually it feels good to have a DC book to look forward to, as even the few I do get are more out of sympathy than love. I like Gordon as Batman in Detective, but not so much in Batman.

I think Snyder was only involved in the initial plotting, not in the writing, which is probably why I liked it as much as I did, felt that it actually had a decent ending, and in general thought the portrayals of the extended family were good.

That ending felt pretty stereotypical Scott Snyder to me. It was pretty dumb that x showed up for the final fight after having never being seen or even mentioned for the first 50 issues, but it was clear that he was just the final boss instead of the big bad, and the way it was resolved was the antithesis of Death of the Family. I particularly liked the parts Gordon and Spoiler played. The reveal of the actual big bad I thought was very good. I actually predicted it the week before the reveal.

Some interesting developments in this one, we see more of Poppy's involvement with Mother and how that ties into Batman's crusade and Spyral. I loved the moment about needing and child soldier or three and the beat panel with Dick, Jason and Tim just looking at each other.

Finally got around to reading number 4 and I'm not sure how I feel about Tim being in league with Mother.

I loved the tease of the order of St. Dumas in this issue, I'd love to see JPV as Azrael again.
