I was kind of underwhelmed with the season 3 premiere but it wasn't bad by any means. In fact the superhero bits were strong as usual and there were a couple interesting ideas dropped that they will explore throughout the season.

I, too, was a bit underwhelmed. I suppose I spoiled myself by reading too many Facebook posts and tweets about how great it was.

Me too. I was a little bored with it. Hope it gets back on track fast.

I was a bit disappointed in the basic premise of the season 3 premier. The Kryptonian-decides-to-shed-their-humanity thing was done already in Smallville, I think it was season 8 or 9, around when Clark donned the black trenchcoat costume. It wouldn't have been so obvious if it wasn't for the fact that they are both CW shows.

Watched this over the weekend. It was a chore to get through and slow in places. I did like the scenes with Mon-El and Supergirl's mother. I like the friendship between Kara and Lena. I like Supergirl's blonder hair this season. She looked more like Supergirl with the new hair. Bored with Jimmy, Alex, and Maggie.

I share the sediments with all of you here if this show doesn't turn around at all; I'm not going to bother with it anymore.

Season 3 episode 3 "Far From the Tree"
I thought this was the strongest episode of the season so far and the parallel family issues were both heartfelt and poignant. My only nitpick is that I felt there could have been a little more superheroing although there was a decent bit of action during the Mars story line it still felt drama heavy which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Best so far this season. Nice touch having Carl Lumbly (voice of J'onn J'onzz in animated Justice League series) play John's Father.

Not a bad episode. I enjoyed the scenes with John and his father. Glad Supergirl joined him on the trip to Mars and I liked John's spaceship. Somehow I don't think things are going to end well for Maggie and Alex. Alex seems to really want children of her own and Maggie does not. Good to see Helen Slater again.

I agree things won't end well for Maggie & Alex. I really liked the focus on John this episode.

I wouldn't be surprised if they ended the relationship somehow. When Maggie asked Alex at the end of the episode if not having kids was OK, Alex's response was not very convincing. There's also the fact that the actress who plays Maggie is not planning to stay with the show: www.bleedingcool.com/2017/05/27/floriana-lima-supergirls-detective-maggie-sawyer-stepping-series-regular-season-three/

season 3 episode 4 "The Faithful" I thought this was the strongest episode of the season and it reminded me of the better story telling in season 1 and I liked how it tied into the pilot. The cult felt creepy but there were some genuinely touching emotional moments. I was surprised they talked so much about religion actually. The Sam scenes at the end keep getting more and more interesting I'm really curious what's coming.

The season started out weak but these last two episodes have been very good.

season 3 episode 5 "Damage" The airplane rescue in this episode is one of the most impressive superhero feats that CW has ever done.

season 3 episode 7 "Wake Up" I was kind of disappointed that they brought back Mon-El as I thought he was terrible last season but I felt this new direction was an improvement. I was glad to hear him say he's been in the 31st century and my fingers are crossed that the other passengers are the Legion of Superheroes. The Sam story line continues to be interesting as well.
