One good ape deserves another. Umm...sorry to be awkward, but I'd already posted this cover, on the first page...

Ooops, sorry. Should have checked more carefully. This is a hard theme! Back to the drawing board.

I was gone for a few days ... but I'm back in time to put up a cover. I can't believe it hasn't been used!

Crimebuster beat me to the Howard the Duck cover, but it's MDG and his Spirit section cover that won my vote. Remember folks, vote early and vote often -M

I'll go with the classic Avengers cover by pinkfloydsound17.
I find a few things interesting 1. The first three candidates were used by Bendis to form the New Avengers , to many a fanboy complaint. 2. Of all the 15 pictured on the cover, only 4 have not become Avengers to this date.

I would have voted for MDG's Spirit illustration if it had been a cover, but unfortunately, it doesn't qualify as this just was the opening page of the story. I might have myself missed the point of the challenge as I didn't offer an election vote but a much more morbid one, haha. So I guess I'll go with the4thpip.

They were released and distributed as an insert in Sunday newspapers, the first page was the cover for those inserts, so yes.
