I pre-ordered the Marvel Legends 90s Animated Wolverine on Hasbro Pulse but I'm kinda nervous about the quality seeing as there are only preproduction images available. Still regretting not picking up the 80s brown suit Wolverine when it first dropped. I don't own any other Wolverines so my fingers are crossed.

I bought this recent Dr Doom retro Legends figure just because of the packaging. Not that I don’t love Doom, but I’ve got a Bowen bust and will likely get the upcoming Sideshow maquette, so there was no need for it. And I don’t usually keep toys packaged, but I absolutely have no intention of opening this one. Both my Marvel Legends Doctor Dooms are still in the packaging. Retro Wave and Super Skrull build-a-figure wave.

Got an email from Super7 saying their reissues of Wave 1 should ship in a few weeks. I only ordered the Lion-O but I'm hyped!

So I've fallen down a massive rabbit hole after making a quick trip to Dollar Tree a few months back. I discovered the 3.75" scale Final Faction, a series of surprisingly high quality action figures that sell for a whopping $1.25 a piece. The quality is slightly below the Kenner Marvel 3.75" line but arguably above Super7 Reaction, they're dirt cheap, they keep pumping out new waves every few months with absolutely no cheap repaints passed off as new figures, and Dollar Tree is doing an amazing job of keeping them stocked, no matter which store I visit. It truly seems like some action figure fan is giving us the kind of toy line we've always wanted in an effort to get us in the door and shopping at DT, and man is it working. There's a very dedicated online facebook community already! And, really, it's refreshing to have a series of action figures with original (if derivative) characters for once, not just doing new versions of tired old licensed characters and franchises. This video review was made back when only the first wave had hit stores. There are now at least twenty figures, seven upgrade packs, and two vehicles, though it's hard to keep track as there is no official up-to-date checklist.

I read Super Powers #1 last week, and it made me curious about the Super Powers action figures. These came out when I was in my late teens and though I was still reading comics, I wasn’t buying action figures. So I looked it up and found a site focusing on the Super Powers toys because I was wondering which DC characters were represented.
Then I went to eBay and put a low bid on an unboxed Martian Manhunter doll. I like the idea of having it. For whatever reason. I don’t even really know why.
The auction is going on for another five days and I’m trying to decide how much I want to spend.

By today's standards, they're a little simplistic, especially the eyes. Still, they're nice to display, and the action features are quite fun. It's a great snapshot of a simpler era, just before DC got more adult, and there's so much Fourth World sprinkled into it! I'm also a big fan of the mini comics the figures came with.

I would love to see some of those mini-comics. I got that Batman #151 for $24. Maybe I’ll get the Martian Manhunter doll for a decent price.

With two days to go in the auction, the price on that Martian Manhunter doll is getting very close to my limit.
The same dealer has a Darkseid doll that isn’t seeing as much action. So I put a low bid on that too.

The Martian Manhunter doll is hovering below my limit.
Darkseid has provoked a bidding skirmish that went up above my limit.
The same dealer has a Mister Freeze doll that’s up to $71!

Some of the Super Powers can fetch three figures loose. Carded most regularly go for close to three figures, the rare one mid to high three figures. Some of the more common ones or ones in not good shape can still be found for under $20 loose, but with the pandemic surge in pricing, even that is not a guarantee anymore. -M

I didn’t see Plastic Man though.

Holy cow, did not realize some of the prices the Super Powers figures are realizing. I feel really lucky, I at least got the Shazam one years ago for a very reasonable price, had no idea it had shot up so much. I wish I hadn't waited so long to try to rebuild my old collection from when I was a kid, feels like too much money now. Not vintage per se, but I also wish I had bought the DC Direct Super Friends 2-packs when they came put, they look straight out of the cartoon. These are also (like everything else) getting very pricey now.
