Chuck Parker is the son of Golden Eagle. Chuck was raised alone by his father. His mother was young and unprepared for a baby and upon Chuck's birth, left him with his father. His mother's whereabouts are unknown. Chuck grew up idolizing his father, even following in his footsteps as a professional surfer. Chuck's father encouraged him to pursue his dreams of becoming a superhero, even asking former Titan, Karen Beecher AKA Bumblebee to augment an old Thanagarian uniform for Chuck. When Starro the Conquorer re-emerged, Chuck became Hawkman and was instrumental in defeating the alien. Hawkman has spent time on Thanagar as well as Egypt, taking in all the information about various incarnations of Hawkman and Hawkgirl. He can be stoic and distant as well as fun-loving and spontaneous. He is the object of affection for Betty Kane, the former Bat-Girl (He enjoys flirting with her, but is not serious about pursuing her). He carries a wide array of weapons as well as Thanagarian technology. He is an expert battle tactician and does not shy away from physical confrontation. Despite being vulnerable to attack, Hawkman often dives into battle, almost as if he enjoys the thrill.
