All curent monthly dc books look the same to me. And not in a goodb way. The art looks like instead being drawn on a computer, it was drawn BY a computer. Almost too good. Does that make sense? It's exciting, slick, flashy, uniform and impressive... but imo lifeless. I'd rather this to artists who are over-rated and burn the skin from my eyes with their hand-drawn aberrations, like Rob No Feet Liefeld and Humberto Ramos, who really tests my patience sometimes. Liefeld is like the Kardashians- no matter what they do, the consumer eats it up.

I finally sampled the alleged joys of Squirrel Girl, in a TPB collection of the original Iron Man intro and the first 4 issues of her comic, and I'm very underwhelmed. It's an OK concept, but I don't find the treatment as funny as I do in other light-hearted superhero books of recent years, cf. the cancelled SHE-HULK book and the currently successful MS. MARVEL. I thought SQ's writers were constantly telling me, the reader, how incredibly funny their character was.
I avoided looking up any reviews before reading the TPB, so I don't know how SQ's fans feel about the character. It did occur to me that a certain politically correct mindset might like SQ because she doesn't conform to the hot-babe appearance of most heroines. But at this point that's just a random hypothesis. I certainly wouldn't mind a semi-homely superheroine if I thought she was as funny as she was supposed to be.

The question about Aunt May looking like a mummy prompts this statement: I can't stand any of Steve Ditko's work. Thankfully, Romita Sr. replaced him on Spider-Man, and drew human characters without the square heads and freaky facial expressions. Also, thankfully, Ditko didn't write Spider-Man, so the feature wasn't another example of his weirdo politics. There, I said it, Jack Ryder. HAHAHAHAHAAAAAA...

Krypto rules. Cei-U! I summon the Legion of Super-Pets! I was under the assumption that we all agreed on this.

Of course Krypto rules! Worst thing about "Post-Crisis" Superman was the lack of Krypto!

Nobody in real life looks like a Ditko character. And that's why that guy was replaced by Samuel L. Jackson and (later) Jennifer Garner in the credit card ads. And if those three were Ditko characters, they'd all look alike!

They wanted to make sure that we never, under any circumstance, started to view Aunt May as a sexual entity. Dude, Aunt May gets more action than some members on CCF.... And lo, the CCF Sex Help/Therapy Thread was born!
