I just never understood why Captain America needed a large A on his forehead to define who he is. It has been there so long that people are used to it, but it looks ridiculous! Ha, if there had been an eagle emblem for all of these years and suddenly it was switched to an A emblem people would be like WTF, it doesn't work!! Thank god they never put a big B on Batman's head! It's to really emphasize how he's not classified as a 4F anymore! Needs a 1 in front of it.

There, I said it. Except, it looked far too much like this:

Maybe Cap can pay an homage to Ben Franklin and put a turkey on his forehead.

FWIW - and as a non-American - I prefer the Eagle to the big A on Cpt America's head. (Although the Cpt didn't really need anything on his head anyway. As the rest of his blue, white and red outfit, along with stars and stripes, identifies him easily enough!)

Spider-Man hyphen, Iron Man space & no hyphen, Batman no space & no hyphen. How is this decided? The same way Elasti-Girl, Negative Man, and Robotman were "decided"... and in the same comic yet! (My Greatest Adventure/original Doom Patrol)

I'm tired of all these heroes with 'dark secrets' to hide.
For a while, it seemed that Wolverine had so many secrets to him that one wondered how he had time to be on the X-Men. Gambit was another, always something "behind his eyes". I remember an issue where Prof X suggested a light psychic bonding to bring all the X-members together and his reply was " as long as it don't go too deep."
*rolls eyes*
and what's the deal with Catwoman? Is she a hero now, or a villain? pick a side.
There, I said it.

If Liefeld wanted an eagle, he should have done what Simon & Kirby did, and what he later did, with his Agent America rip-off (which he then got the FA license) and do it like Fighting American.

Dr. Doom is now a good guy wearing the Iron Man armor. That proves that Marvel just doesn't know what to do with their characters anymore.
There I said it.

Dr. Doom is now a good guy wearing the Iron Man armor. Nooooooooooo! Really? I don't read many modern comics, but 'Dr Doom' doesn't even sound like a guy with good intentions! (I hope normal service is resumed soon.)

First time seeing this thread, and have a confession that I think fits the purpose, and that many of you will hate me for.
I find Stan Lee comics completely unreadable now. I appreciate his vision, and plots, and love the art, but I can't read his dialogue without cringing and getting completely taken out of the story.

It's 50 years later and the world and speech patterns have changed. I Like the causal way in which the characters talked to each other back then.

Sometimes I think he tries too much to make the characters sound "casual" but the dialogue is no less stilted than other superhero comics (or war or western or romance) at the time. of course, if you love the vision, plot and art, you don't leave much for Stan.
