They are, however, an invitation to a super-wedgie. Well, the mask is just begging for a Three Stooges eye poke.

I do remember that the cover was criticized for perspective issues and that Wonder girl had a possible boob job. I though glorified bodies were par for the course when it came to comic books. Objectionable things (Wonder Girl is supposed to be what 15 in the story?) are always par for the course until someone objects, and some people get offended others are offended and then some people try to justify the objectionable behavior by saying it's always been that way. -M You guys are correct... the Titans cover with Wonder girl on it (and the massive fight around it) was in deed what made CBR change policy and reset. The Riri cover isn't so much that it's terrible, but rather that it's nothing like what she looks like in any other early depictions.. they've since made her look older and more curvy.

Just watched the titles sequence to Watchmen last night. I can understand not liking the film (I love it), but that sequence is unique and well shot.

I miss superheroes wearing their trunks over their tights. There, I said it! Damn straight! Not that there's anything wrong with that.

I want to know if Iron Man carries around a can opener for those emergency bathroom issues? And does he have a fan inside the suit for those gaseous instances which all naturally occur at the least convenient moments? There i said that!

This would also be a good post in the new Wacky What-Ifs thread...

I'm tired (and bored) of Moon Knight being portrayed as an unstable whackadoo nutcase because Marvel got their panties in a bunch over MK being called a Batman clone. There, I said it!

That's funny, because I feel this is the most interesting Moon Knight has been since the Moench/Sienkiewicz run. It makes sense that his use of alter egos was the result of his being nuts, not a calculated choice.

I find it interesting that Scott Campbell was savaged over this cover of a young female- The Riri cover isn't so much that it's terrible, but rather that it's nothing like what she looks like in any other early depictions.. they've since made her look older and more curvy. My problem with the Riri cover is that it is so terrible. I haven't paid much attention to his work, but I thought Scott Campbell was a fairly highly regarded and popular artist among contemporary comics fans, but I think this drawing is pretty awful. Lazy background, awkward, poorly executed pose that's been used so many times in recent years (that cocked hip thing) that you'd think artists would be able to render it flawlessly by now...And I realize superhero readers don't really think about some of these poses, but what exactly is she supposed to be doing with her hand? Have you seen anyone ever do anything like this in real life--stick their hand out and splay the fingers? Some artists can get away with a "splayed finger" pose when there's some emotion and dynamic action in the scene, but it doesn't come close to working in a static, cold pose like this one.

I used to see baseball and football cards all the time at some of the comic shops I used to go to (my brother collected those too); the pose reminds of those a little bit. I gotta say, I don't see the similarity between those cards and the Iron Man cover pose at all. Sorry.

Yeah, I pictured it as her doing a repulsor blast pose... old timey baseball/football card poses are a great similar example. Incidently, I didn't say the cover was good, just that I didn't think it was offensive .

Yeah, I pictured it as her doing a repulsor blast pose... Bingo! Yep, that's exactly what the pose is supposed to be. Good call, wildfire2099.
