If you do not give yourself the chance of appreciating the brilliant physical comedy orchestrated by Harry Lucey or Samm Schwartz, you are depriving yourself of one of life's great joys.
There! I said it!

The last event mini that I enjoyed from Marvel had was Secret Invasion. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for each issue. I think this was the last Marvel event mini I bought off the racks new, although I did pick up Siege, Fear Itself, and AvX from the dollar bins long after the fact. The last so-called event I read was Fear Itself which I found tiresome. I was already burning out on events at the time, and that soured me on them. Haven't read any since.

Lil Archie had a lot of great stories, many of which I tended to enjoy more than the "main continuity" stuff.

I used to have a copy of that first volume growing up. It's a solid investment if you're trying to get into Lil Archie stuff, especially for that price Amazon listed.

Aquaman is nothing, has been nothing for years. He's a sub-par character whose inadequacies were on full display on the Superfriends for years. His costume design is weak along with his origin. Namor the Sub-Mariner is a far more interesting aquatic character with personality, stronger dramatic themes and better costume sense. Yet DC has tried in vain over the years in giving Aquaman series after series in an attempt to bolster him. In the 90s, let's give him a mullet too and oh, let's replace his hand with a hook. That would be dramatic. Why he continues to get such consideration over more worthy characters such as Captain Marvel and Hawkman is beyond me.
There. Said it.

However, Aquaman has supported himself with more issues under his own name than the Sub-Mariner. Far far more. Not even close. And far more in merchandising as well In vain? Hardly

In November, my son played Aquaman in a play at his high school. The running joke was how lame Aquaman was as a hero. Until the end.

At the risk of sounding sexist, but Carol Danvers was more interesting to me back when she wore the black swimsuit. There! I said it!

It's sexist if the reason you found her more interesting is the black swimsuit. If there is another reason that happens to coincide with that outfit, then it's probably not.

Her time as Binary was an interesting era. I always wanted a team-up with her and the Silver Surfer, but to my knowledge, they never interacted. I do like the classic Ms. Marvel costume as a design. It's a great costume.

I said it! it's good that they got away from the one that was a modified version of the Captain Marvel costume but I don't care for the black one much myself. I must admit that Frank Cho made it look good in this cover, though.
