He still looks like he's running around in a blue onesie with red booties, a toy red belt and a sheet on his shoulders and tied around his neck. But I guess that's not quite as silly as underwear on the outside.

My preference... ![](http://www.comic-art.com/media/gifs/supe010b.gif) ![](https://www.lambiek.net/artists/image/s/siegel_j/siegel.gif) I like the raw simplicity and dynamic force of the Siegel Superman A very close second is the slight modification of that look for the Fleisher cartoons... ![](https://cdn3.whatculture.com/images/2011/09/7-600x400.jpg) I didn't think this original look was broke or in need of fixing or modification into the over-rendered S-shield and look of the Silver and Bronze ages. At its time, the influence of a "circus strongman outfit" is very clear in Supes wardrobe, but the influence of the circus has entered our cutlutal graveyard in the 21st century and is not quite so apparent to anyone who grew up in this era. -M

I'm going to say it...
Todd Mcfarlane's interpretation of Spider-Man is nearly as brilliant as Steve Ditko's and John Romita's.
There. I said it.
