It’s Tintin ! Not Tin Tin, not Tin-Tin, not Tin-tin! Tintin! There! I said it. Had to go check a recent post, whew, I'm glad I got it right. I think the ooze or slime or whatever radioactive goop it was just made the Turtles evolve, been a long time since I read or watched anything with them in so don't kill me if I have the trigger for their evolutioon mixed-up. I guess for turtles that might be suping up, but maybe this guy would be the authority on that...

After all of these decades of teenage Archie I want to see them take the Marvel plunge and do Old Man Archie and the gang. Let's see what those lovable old cranky curmudgeon's are up to in the nursing home with irritating the medical staff! There. I said it! Over the years, there have been several imaginary stories showing the Archie gang in their future, including the far future. Typical of the line, none of those stories had any sort of continuity with any other story.

Curt Swan could not draw Batman or Green Lantern to save his life. He made Batman look like some sloppy guy in a terribly constructed costume. There. I said it.

I remember him drawing Batman in some World's Finest stories in a very Silver agey sort of way, I thought it was okay. His version , which was the polar opposite of Dark and gritty was good for the time. Once Neal Adams et al came along , that version was outdated.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with Swan's interpretation of Batman or Green Lantern. They're miles better than, say, Kirby's Spider-Man, Colan's Thor, or Gil Kane's version of The Thing.
Cei-U! I summon the counterargument!

I summon the counterargument! No, I can't muster up much real dislike for Swan's Batman, either, especially with George Klein's inks. However, it always bugged me that he drew the ears on Batman's cowl jutting out, even after the Adams/ Novick version was the style. See panel 3 above for a perfect example.

I hadn't noticed before looking at those panels how rounded (organic) he made the cowl-ears look, rather than the usual spikes. Round looks weird.

I summon the counterargument! Other than being completely out of place in a period of Infantino/Anderson, Novick and Adams. Swans's Batman looked like a bad cosplayer and his version always had the facial expression of being worn out, like a guy who missed sleep for a week.

I think Gray Morrow was the artist who seemed least concerned with "idealizing" Batman and making him look like someone in that suit would look in the "real world."

Like a Calvin Klein version of the Walmart serial costume:
