I keep seeing her name and picture pop up in places like Facebook. I never heard of her before that. She was a very famous and glamorous British actress back in the 70s and early 80s. She got her big start in the beloved British film The Railway Children, but went on to star in successful films such as Walkabout, Logan's Run, The Eagle Has Landed, Equus, and American Werewolf in London. She's pretty famous over here in the U.K. -- at least among those old enough to remember her heyday. Her profile did fall rather sharply in the late 80s and beyond. Recently, she appeared in Captain America, Winter Soldier.

I really like An American Werewolf in London. I just am not sure why a guy attacked on the Yorkshire Moors was sent to a hospital in London. No hospitals in Yorkshire? Great, great film, though. Jenny Agutter is a fine actress.
That werewolf film is another matter, as I've never found it interesting, nor do I have any fond feelings for its director.

London had better equipped hospitals, with the best doctors specialising in specific treatments (for lacerations, puncture wounds etc). I believe that it is stated in the film that David was first seen by physicians in Yorkshire, who lied about what happened to him, before he was moved to a better London hospital. London has always had the best hospitals, in terms of where the leading doctors and surgeons work and in terms of specialist treatment. Edit: Besides, "An American Werewolf in Yorkshire" isn't as good a title. He could have been bitten by a Yorkshire terrier. That would have been more frightening.

Our mum would make it black puddin'....even the white bits was black."

Great series. Loved "Tompkinson's School Days," "The Testing of Eric Olthwaite," "Escape from Stalag Luft 112B," ....oh, hell, I'll just be listing every episode. Just funny, absurd stuff, but with that classic adventure touch. The commentary tracks, from Michael Palin, are almost as funny as the programs. I especially love seeing Kenneth Colley, as the bank robber. Nice to see him outside Star Wars, with his native accent. I've seen him in Brassed Off and an episode of New Tricks, using his Yorkshire accent, but forgot that he played the actual Jesus, in Life of Brian. Admiral Piett would have been so much cooler with a Yorkshire accent. Could have kept in Dave prose's West Country accent on Vader. "Asteroids, don't concern me, me Admiral, I want some cider! Ooh, arr, ooh, arr." Pictures of the Wurzles on his meditation chamber walls..........

I find it impressive that modern writers were able to turn characters like The Owl, Hammerhead and Madame Masque into major players in the criminal underworld.

These are great...stronger than regular bags. Every now and then I get 10 new packs (500 bags), that should suffice for the rest of the year.
The ironic thing, I'm using some of them for books which were never bagged or boarded (like many of silver-age Archies I posted in the purchases thread) and they retained cover gloss and were in high grade simply because they were stored away safely.

Speaking of bags, there was a certain dichotomous pleasure in the tedium of getting comics into a bag and board smoothly without tearing up the cover with the adhesive that is absent from reading comics on the iPad.

I don't know.....I miss rooting around in a cardboard box and pulling out a book, from under the pile.

Are they much pricier than the ordinary bags?

Unfortunately, yes, a pack of 50 costs anywhere between $16-22 each.

I don’t think I have ever read a Captain (Shazam) Marvel story that I ever liked.
There I said it.
