Though I think it looks best rendered as red-&-black, I still believe the classic Spidey suit looks fine as red-&-blue How do you feel about the underarm webbing? Indifferent, mostly. When I draw the character, I don't include them, but they don't bother me. I just wish they had a practical purpose to justify their presence.

Some signed books bug me. Here we have a bronze-age Batman signed by a one-time Batman actor Val Kilmer...if it was some mid 90s movie adaptation which featured him, fine....but this is a stretch. By some 18 years. Imagine Val Kilmer signing your Detective Comics 37....

First World problem #5,737. I think problem is a little bit strong. Not to First Worlders. To them, everything's a problem.

That is odd, I agree... if you're going to have Val Kilmer sign a comic, I'd definitely go with Doc Holliday!

All of a sudden I'm reminded of the Simpsons joke where Comic Book Guy has a picture of Sean Connery signed by Roger Moore.

This in turn reminds me of a line from a Stan Mikita book I read when I was a kid - I imagine it was one of these throwaway, ghost-written things; I read a lot of hockey books when I was growing up and can't recall this one in detail beyond a few isolated anecdotes - anyway, Mikita was talking about some of the fan letters he used to get and one of them went, "Dear Mr. Mikita, You are my favourite player. Please send me an autographed picture of Bobby Hull."

Then there was the episode of Big Bang Theory where Sheldon wanted Stan Lee to autograph a current issue of Batman, so he would have a unique collectible.

It's a classic...sort of...a classic John Buscema cover on a recent 1:100 Black Widow variant (ie a dealer had to order 100 regular copies to get one of these). Quite a number of these classic artwork prints are being used for recent variants and they are great tributes to creators from the past, I prefer them to homage covers which, more often than not, are lazy rip offs.
I had some right place at the right time luck...a seller listed one of these with the regular $7 variant so I saved about $65

After Confessor posted his #1 Dr. Strange that he acquired for about £25, I began to look around...I was offered a FINE copy for about US$40 but didn't take it as the (only) main flaw was a small missing piece on the back cover. I then saw one with a low starting price and it looked great until you got inside the pages and saw this...the Marvel value stamp was butchered.
Honestly, the whole concept of MVSs was downright idiotic because 50 years later they aren't worth a thing and left many comics ruined in the process.

Perhaps they might have been better named the Marvel de-value stamp, as that's the effect they've had on the comics themselves.

Give me your tired, your poor, Your creased and de-stamped comics yearning to be read, The wretched refuse of your teeming longboxes. Send these, the mylar-less, dog-eared books to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!
