That is probably my favorite thing he has ever written. Great episode. That was one great episode. I loved the ending where the atom had to give the machine a "heart attack" to defeat it. And professor Palmer's introduction was fantastic. He was in the miniature world wrestling a tapeworm I think. "This is Batman. I need air support. Because I can't fly. At all." Loved that episode.

I finally decided to give Authority a go. I enjoyed it well enough, but it was entirely underwhelming. I picked up a trade with 3 story arcs. In each, some threat starts destroying major cities and the Authority stops them. Your basic superhero fare.
It is the same reaction I had to a good bulk of Ellis' catalogue.

I guess reading them now would feel that way, but back around '99 or so, I was completely buzzed about The Authority.
Ellis is solid, even though over-hyped often, but I still dearly love that franchise.
He did good.

Wonder Woman: "I need both hands professor Palmer." And The Atom proceeds to have the best seat of any flight ever in history!

Ellis has really impressed me on Dynamite's James Bond book.
If the rest of this second arc continues to be as good as the first part was, I may have to rethink my Transmet vote.

I'm slowly picking up the Transmetropolitan collections when I see them cheap anywhwere, but have quite a few to go still.
I was planning to buy that first James Bond collection when it comes out in a few months but I see it's hardcover. Is it usually guaranteed that a softcover version will eventually follow, or do they sometimes just publish the hardcover and leave it at that?

I'd have to guess it might be a bit of a wait for a softcover version.
I'm sure Dynamite will milk it for a while.
