Born and raised in central California (ugh), but I've been in San Jose (about 45 mins south of San Francisco) for the past 14 years.
I love it here, and don't see myself relocating any time soon.

What Hurricane? - care to explain? Cross-Fire ... Interesting way to describe it! Uhhh....never mind. I...just..can't I'll put him out of his misery: it's a Rolling Stones lyric, Mecha. Quite a famous one, actually. It's the opening line to the song "Jumping Jack Flash"... "I was born in a cross-fire hurricane, And I howled at my ma in the driving rain." Incidentally, the phrase "cross-fire hurricane" refers to the blitzkrieg that Germany inflicted on Dartford, Kent in World War 2, where both Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were born.

Thank you for being nice and explaining. Sometimes when lyrics are quoted and/or used unexpectedly, it can be hard to catch, even if one is familiar with the song.

If you think it comes from somewhere but can think of the source... Highlight, right click, search google, song source (or quote source) revealed. -M

If I had wanted to know, I'm sure google would have been my friend. I was thanking him in general, though. I'm ready for this holiday season to be over before I have a nervous breakdown, so when I see someone being nice and helpful, I like to make mention of it because it IS appreciated.

Born right outside of Paris in a small town where France had its defrozed Captain America (Hibernatus) gradualy acclimate to modern times, then lived in 4 different flats inside Paris (center and north east), now right outside of Stockholm, I'm on the map.

Born in Omaha, moved back to the family farm and raised there with my 6 siblings for the next 12 years, went to college in Sioux City and graduated with my bachelor's, moved back to Omaha, got divorced, moved with a business opportunity to L.A., got re-married and lived there for 6 years until I was convinced my undiagnosed-second wife was bi-polar and got away before she killed me. Lived with my parents briefly in IA until I got hired for a position in OKC. Remarried for the third and last time, and have been here, happily, for 11 years now.

Born and raised here in New Zealand *cough* years ago...Lived most of that time in the city*cough* of Wanganui, and for the last 8 years have lived on the outskirts of a small town about 30 minutes from there. I commute the half hour to work in Wanganui, to the astonishment of those I work with, most of whom have a 10 minute drive home. Still yet to travel overseas, but would love to take my lady to Rarotonga, where her mother is from, to get married one day.

I identify as a San Franciscan, having spent my first 23 years there. Then some time in Santa Barbara. Then I made poor life choices and left California.
I spent some time in Maryland and some time traveling here and there.
And now live somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

I've got relatives in Levin and we were coming down from Ohakune, so probably passed through
