Where did Frankenstein and Dr Doom first meet? This is a head-scratcher. Doom just misses meeting Basil Frankenstein and his creature in Invaders #31 (Doom shows up in the following two issues). Then, I recall that he and Baroness Victoria Frankenstein had a mutual acquaintance in Dreadknight, but they don't actually cross paths in that Iron Man story. I don't think I'm doing this right.

No, not there indeed. And I indeed meant the creature and not its "creator"...

And I indeed meant the creature and not its "creator"... Oh, you're one of those people who call the monster "Frankenstein." How gauche.

You cheeky bugger! Was it Doom 2099 #9?
What a wind-up that was. You nearly did my head in. Try this:
When did the Blue Beetle meet Spider-Man?

Well, the thing is you're wrong. It's much much earlier.... You were much closer with your first guess.

Well, the thing is you're wrong. No surprise there. I'm not called "Fail" Maurice for nothing.
Right! Time to lay back and await the imminent arrival of a smarter poster than me to save the day, by which I mean literally ANY other registered member on the site, even someone who joined only moments ago because of the "Star Wars" thread.

LOL. No but seriously, with that Invaders #31, you were on the right path, even if it was an older book. I hope I remember correctly though, as I know for sure they're both in the same story, but I now wonder if they crossed paths in it beyond a flashback. I read this sooooo long ago.

I don't know whether you noticed, but I was pretty confident about that Doom 2099 guess. It was subtle, certainly, containing only the one low-key insult, but I think it constitutes all I have to offer.
Let's throw it to the panel!

I hope I remember correctly (where Dr. Doom and "Frankenstein" first met) though, as I know for sure they're both in the same story, but I now wonder if they crossed paths in it beyond a flashback. I must be a glutton for punishment, but based on the above, I wonder if you're thinking of Silver Surfer #7: Doom appears in a bitter flashback recounted by the Surfer, but apparently does not interact with Frankenstein in either name or name-sake. I've failed again, haven't I? Boy, you could almost set your watch to it.
