 An unused script from a couple of years ago pulled from my notebook in an attempt to get my creative mojo back into motion. It was vastly improved by suggestions from Number One Daughter and Number One Wife who made me change things I didn't want to change - though I had to admit they were right once I did. |

Nice - portraits or out of your head stuff? Some made up, some based on photos Have you ever tried cutting a picture or drawing in half (of faces or bodies or places) and creating from what is there? This was an actual "test" and favorite assignment from one of my high school art teachers. Mrs. Bow liked to create diverse inspiration for creativity from us students. Another assignment she liked was cutting out photos or advertisements in magazines and asking us students to recreate them in different forms. Doing pencil shading but no hard direct lines. Doing only with an ink pen or felt tip. Doing in charcoal. Doing in watercolor and so forth. I do wish I had more of these projects from high school instead of just a handful. Sadly I only doodle a bit these days for birthday cards as there never seems to be the time or drive to draw. |

Right now, i don't have time to do more than play around, usually if i have time/energy on a weekend afternoon before dinner. I usually only spend about 40 mins on each of the check paintings, or maybe do two over an hour. Working in acrylics right now. (Though I'll do some pencil or charcoal sketching during the week.)
Maybe after I finish a work project (end of July) or when my son goes back to school I'll try to put more structure around things--plenty of free resources these days.
