The Strangers had a great ongoing story arc involving the mysterious villain calling himself Pilgrim. Unfortunately the comic ended without getting a real resolution to it. (I won't say more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who might start reading the book as a result of this thread.) Steve Englehart's website says the Pilgrim storyline culminated in a crossover between Night Man Annual #1 and Strangers Annual #1. Did those issues not fully resolve things?

I enjoyed a few of the Ultraverse books. I liked Sludge quite a bit. Great Lopresti artwork. Rune was great because it was BWS back in comics. Exiles was great when Warren Ellis was writing the book. I love his take on Ghoul. Do you mean UltraForce? I think the only Warren Ellis material featured in Exiles was reprinted from UltraForce #1.

that Prototype cover must cost at least .50- .60 cents now. Well, considering that I bought it for .25..... But no, I've never been into comics for profit, just enjoyment Though I may at some point get Englehart to sign it just for kicks I thought Prototype was by Len Strazewski not Steve Englehart. What was wrong with the cover of the newsstand version?

It was a printer error, basically the border that usually was on issues of the Strangers somehow wound up on newstand edition copies of Prototype #1. Newstand editions of Ultraverse are somewhat mildly rare, but the printer error Prototype is probably the most infamous

It resolved the question of who the Pilgrim really was. However, there was still a lot to be explored, given the vows some members made to find a way to redeem the Pilgrim.

Another favorite - a crossover - Prime/Capt America that featured an evil alternate universe Bill Clinton. Wasn't he evil in our world too ?

The line from Malibu I liked the most and remember the most fondly was their Bravura line of creator-owned material, unfortunmately a lot of it got cancelled midway through because of financial difficulties...
'Breed I and II from Starlin Dreadstar by David & Colon Star Slammers from Walt Simonson Power and Glory from Chaykin The Edge by Grant and Kane Nocturnals by Daniel Brereton
were the ones I checked out, but there were more..
A Man Called Ax by Marv Wolfman (can't remember the artist) and Metaphysique by Nrom Breyfogle at leastpossibly more I am forgetting.

One more called Strikeback by Jonathon Peterson, Kevin MacGuire and Steve Oliff. It was unfinished but later completed by Image

I'm not a fan of Brereton.

A Man Called Ax by Marv Wolfman (can't remember the artist) and Metaphysique by Nrom Breyfogle at leastpossibly more I am forgetting. Shawn McManus drew the Man Called A-X. I think the Cable lookalike's name was supposed to be pronounced A-Ten, which could be the silliest pronunciation idea since Stan Lee insisted Ka-Zar should be read as KAY-sar.

How else would you pronounce Ka-Zar? It's the same with the Sub-Mariner. I pronounce it Sub-Ma-Reen-Er, but the old Marvel Superheroes cartoon from the 60's called him the Sub-Marin-Er

Seriously, we had a whole thread on the pronunciation of super-hero names and quite a few referenced Ka-Zar and Sub-Mariner. You can find the thread here...Kay-Sar?-M
