Anyone here dabble in writing? What influenced you/ inspires you to write?

I started out writing romance on deviantart. Looking back at some of that stuff now, it's easily me at my worst. Now I'm trying my hand at a "line" of stories inspired by old dime store pulp novels, all five of them from a different genre and style of writing, that I'll sporadically post on tumblr. (When I eventually get around to completing them, I might sell them on Amazon at a pittance)

My main inspiration was the Harry Potter novels, I loved J.K. Rowling's attention to detail and try my best to make stories dense with it
