We have the capability here of creating a real-time texting window on the board, though we haven't had much of a use for it. It's now occurring to me, with all the classic comic knowledge we have here, why not have a trivia night where people live text their answers? All we'd need is someone willing to be the Trivia Guru, who could choose a day and time to ask the questions and tabulate the results. If anyone is interested in participating in a Trivia night here, please reply with days/times you would be available to play. And if anyone here is interested in running a Trivia night, I'd need to know that too  |

That sounds pretty fun! I'd be in if the time was right (late-ish at night is best for me). I'm probably better at stats and MCing than anything else.. so I'd be happy to do that if no one else wants to.

I might be interested, but I work evenings most days, so I wouldn't be available until after 10-10:30 most nights, unless it happens to be a night off (and I don't have plans/commitments with my wife that night).
That said, Sundays are usually a whole day off for me so I could arrange time on a Sunday afternoon or evening.
Oh and just because we are all possibly in different time zones, I am in eastern time if we need to know that for logistical reasons.

I can be made available Sunday to Thursday Nights - I just can't on weekends because I run two clubs and I have activities on a monthly basis. If it was scheduled on a Wednesday Night it would be best for me.

I'd be down if my schedule allowed it. My schedule is too complicated to suggest one be scheduled around me. But schedule one, and if I'm free I'll show up.
The difficulty I see (because it's a bigger problem for me than many) is timezones.

The difficulty I see (because it's a bigger problem for me than many) is timezones. Well we have site stats to help us here. I can certainly look at the most heavily trafficked times per day. But you're right, this does present a challenge for trying to accommodate everyone. |

Spent some time examining site analytics tonight. Our most popular times for this past week were Saturday at 2pm and 7pm (EST).
Seems to me that doing 7pm EST works best for accommodating folks in the US who are on Central, Pacific, or Mountain Time, but also isn't disgustingly late for Europeans (midnight on a Saturday night).
I'd be happy to MC the first time around unless someone else wants to take a crack at it (we'd need some GOOD classic comic trivia questions!!), and then we can have the winner each time be the MC for the next trivia session.
Is there an interest in doing this on a Saturday at 7pm EST? And, if so, how often? Weekly? Monthly??

I can do Saturday that means it's 5pm my time frame and I can do it on the 3rd Saturday of each month - meaning I prefer the Monthly Route in order for me to participate in it. It doesn't interfere my two clubs that I run. |
