I've never been a Punisher fan, but he was so good in Daredevil, I'd be very happy if they fast tracked him and put some of the others off.

Yep Luke Cage's series is obviously set to debut in September, but I personally want them to hold off on Iron Fist/Defenders/Jessica Jones (S2) and fast track the Punisher. It's not like you need any flashy CGI or highly stylized fight choreography in a Punisher series. Put together a solid script, add in some realistic entry/exit wounds (think Robocop, Total Recall, etc) and have a practical explosion here and there and you're golden. I personally think they should really take their time on the Defenders anyway. I hope it's just a 4 episode mini-series and they really go all out with it. Instead of a 12-13 episode season where you have to really balance out the budget.

Iron Fist is already in production and casting, and Charlie Cox mentioned in an interview at a recent Netflix event that he is in Defenders and they are filming it later this year, so I doubt you will see Punisher before either of those two, as they are ahead of Punisher in terms of having scripts and casting done and filming already scheduled.

Still, seems like a realistic time frame.

At TV Critics banquet today, head of Netflix programming said Punisher won't hit until 2018, the same year DD Season 3 and Jessica Jones season 2 hits. Luke Cage is later this year and Iron Fist and Defenders are the 2 scheduled for 2017.

Couple of character suggestions and casting choices I would love to see
Det. Martin Soap - Bob Odenkirk (would be absolutely perfect)
Micro - Paul Giamatti
Finn Cooley - Tony Curran
Nicky Cavella - Giovanni Ribisi
Barracuda - Terry Crews

I saw that Hot Toys is making a Punisher figure based on Jon Bernthal as well (making a Charlie Cox Daredevil too). Good time to be a Punisher fan!

I fully expect Micro to be in it. As for the villain, I would like to see Jigsaw but I realize this may be unlikely since the movies have already shown him. Finn Cooley would be a nice ne to focus on. I would also expect Kingpin to be woven into the story in some way and also think that a villain like Tombstone would fit perfectly into this type of story. The same goes for Tarantula. Also, I am not the biggest Punisher fan so my knowledge is a bit lacking but if this is Frank, I think it would be very badass if this look made some form of appearance.

Sounds like we'll be seeing plenty of Fisk in the Punisher series Great news www.movienewsguide.com/punisher-season-1-kingpin/286075Recently, Vincent D’Onofrio teased that Wilson Fisk will be back to Hell’s Kitchen in the near future. However, it looks like the Kingpin still has business to conduct with Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle. The 57-year-old hinted that Fisk has a long history with the Punisher in the comics, and that might crossover to the show. Recently, while promoting his newest film, The Magnificent Seven, D’Onofrio confirmed that he will return to Marvel’s Daredevil. While he has not signed up to Season 3 yet, the former Law & Order star explained that his character, Wilson Fisk, is important to Marvel’s TV universe. That said, he revealed that he is willing to come back if the show needs him. But, D’Onofrio is quite aware that the Kingpin is one of the most important villains not just in Daredevil’s life but in several comic book characters as well. In an interview with IGN, he hinted that he might appear in Netflix’s Punisher. “I know that there’s … anybody that knows the whole Daredevil and Punisher series,” the actor said. “They know that there’s a lot of Fisk in there.” On the small screen, Frank Castle first met the Kingpin in Daredevil Season 2. While their meeting was brief, Fisk was able to use Frank Castle to his own advantage by egging the vigilante to murder another prisoner. However, when he survived the encounter, Fisk aided in his escape. Meanwhile, in the comics, the Kingpin is a constant antagonist in Frank Castle’s life. However, his most prominent appearance was in the 2004 series, Punisher MAX. The new story arc introduced a different version of Wilson Fisk, starting out as a bodyguard to another mob boss, who he later on killed in order to be the new leader. The Kingpin employed Bullseye to be his main henchman. And, when Frank Castle made him the next target, Fisk ordered Bullseye and Elektra to kill the vigilante. While they manage to seriously injure the “one man army,” he was able to kill Kingpin by shooting the mob boss in the back of his head. While Punisher Max will unlikely be the plot to Season 1, the Netflix series might adapt the story arc in upcoming seasons. Bullseye is rumored to be joining Daredevil Season 3. Therefore, there might be a chance that Frank Castle will team up with Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) to battle the sharp shooter in the future. Daredevil will return in 2018. Meanwhile, Season 1 of Punisher might premiere next year on Netflix.

Unless he's making an appearance in Iron Fist, then it sounds like the Punisher series is already filming.
