Shax, I'm pretty sure I still have the M.A.S.K. Rhino somewhere in my parents' place. I'll have to go look for it next time I go over. And is it just me, or does that Star Bird look like it was ripped off of a Y-Wing? Going to go a little obscure for this one. I was always a big fan of Japanese mecha anime and toys, and as a kid owned a bunch of Transformers, Macross/Robotech toys, the lion Voltron, and some others. Here's one that remember fondly. It was a Takara combiner robot, the same company that produced the original G1 Transformer designs.

At one point, I've owned nearly every Diaclone piece including Great Robot Base and Fortress X (sold them years ago when money was tight). In fact, once upon a time, this was my website: xoomer.virgilio.it/tvtmaster/diaclone/history1.htmlSo I think your nostalgia is pretty darn cool!

I miss my Mego figures most of all. I have replaced a few of them over the years, still have Shazam and Isis (she's still on the card). I still have most of Masters of the Universe figures. They are in a storage bin in my Dad's basement. Castle Grayskull is long gone. I would like to have it back.
One thing I really miss is a light up drawing desk that had the DC Heroes. The desk had a panel that was illuminated. You would place a picture of one of the heroes on it, place your own paper over it, and trace the picture. I wish I had all my Fisher-Price toys too. I remember the parking garage, ferris wheel, school house, school bus, and it seems like I had a boat.
Did anyone have Weebles? I had the haunted house and a western ranch. Also had the Remco monsters that came with a vinyl playset. I wish I had kept all that stuff! Probably ended up in a yardsale.

I don't have the playsets though. FunCo released a new set of 3.5" universal horror monsters last year that you can still get online at cost. I don't like them as much as the originals, but they're not bad.

I had several M.A.S.K. vehicles, but I don't think I had Rhino. If memory serves, my cousin had that one and that was one of the main reasons I was always so excited to go visit my grandparents (his family lived next door at the time). He also had the Boulder Hill playset.
I took a look at an online collector's guide and I'm certain that I had: Condor, Jackhammer, Piranha, Switchblade, Thunderhawk, Hurricane and Vampire. I may have had one or two more, by I can't recall. Ah, memories.

Does anyone remember a recall of toys in the early to mid-80's involving either Voltron or Transformers figures? I think it had something to do with lead-based paint. I do remember that many of the early figures were metallic, as opposed to the modern figures that are mostly plastic.

I didn't have the Aurora sets, but I did have some of the Hot Wheels track sets... and the SSP Smash Em Up Derby (and a few other SSP racers) which would sometimes race against Evel Knieval on his motorcycle, or... on his chopper (which after the Cap TV movies got commandeered by my Mego Captain America figure) -M We had a ton of Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars. The remnants are in a bucket at my Mom's apartment. My Grandson played with them when they visited Mom over Christmas. Hot Wheels track should be considered a weapon of mass destruction. My brothers used to beat the tar out of each other...and me...with them. I really wanted an Evil Knievel. One of my friends had one and we jumped everything with that thing.

"Obscure" was meant for the rest of the folks who might read this thread. :-)

As you can tell, my childhood was mostly in the 1980s. Yes, yes, and yes!

Never got nearly as many super powers or secret wars figures as I would've loved. SW I had cap, iron man and wolverine. Can't believe I still have wolverine and his claws and shield. Still have SP superman, WW, Robin, riddler and an aqua man I bought years later. Wish I still had a batman. Still on my list to buy. I desperately regret getting rid of my gijoes, transformers and Star Wars figs. Gave everything away to family and neighborhood kids in my teens. Just kept my superheroes. I had so many original SW and GIJoe figs / vehicles and I always took care of toys too so they were in great shape. I had the first transformers and he man to hit stores well before they became known brands. Just thought they looked cool. Don't miss those though. Really miss my joes. Probably my all time fave toy figure line. I probably had at least 1 from every line made in early eighties. Many figures lost limbs to my dog though but most were replaced over time. Coincidentally I just discovered a couple single handed mask figs buried in the legos I passed to my kids.

As a huge Hulk fan, it always bugged and baffled me as a kid that they didn't include the Hulk. It's really unfathomable given that it was the 80's. The Hulk was easily Marvel's second most popular character. Only Superman, Batman and Spider-Man were more popular. DC's Super Powers line had characters with different models and scales (see Darkseid, Brainiac, etc.) so that excuse always struck me as Mattel being shamefully cheap. I enjoyed my Secret Wars figures but it pales when compared to Super Powers variety and overall design.

I had the Pocket Heroes Hulk, and he was so bulky that he was almost to scale with my Secret Wars figures. I just imagined that his being short made him all the more irritable (and dangerous)

In the late 80's/early 90's Toy Biz released a decent Hulk figure. I think it was the first decent "action figure" that had been produced of the Hulk up until that point. I bought it (I might still have it) but I remember it mainly because Peter David made a joke about it in the comics about the Hulk's only accessory being a rock. "Thor get's a hammer, Cap a shield...I got a rock." I have a few figures on top of a small books shelf, this being my favorite: This series of Marvel Legends was the first time I was ever satisfied with a Hulk figure.
