Over the years, I've managed to re-aquire most collectibles that I feel any nostalgia for, but there are a few that are still beyond my reach: M.A.S.K. RhinoI've reacquired a small collection of M.A.S.K. vehicles and figures to satisfy nostalgia, but my favorite vehicle of them all is both prohibitively expensive on ebay and too large to fit anywhere sensible in my collection. Madballs figuresMost children of the 1980s vaguely recall Madballs, but few remember the Madballs figures, where the heads were spring-loaded bouncing balls that would eject when you pressed a lever in the back. I really miss these guys and would gladly buy them again if they didn't fetch $60 a piece on ebay. Fisher Price Alpha StarThis one is going way back...perhaps too far back. This had to be one of my earliest non-baby toys. It's inexpensive to acquire today, but it's big, and (worse yet) I don't think I'd enjoy it much as an adult. The reality couldn't possibly measure up to the memory. Transformers: ArmadaA far more recent nostalgia, Transformers Armada hit stories in 2002, and they were the most fun I ever had buying new toys as an adult. I loved the concept of smaller Transformers interacting with larger ones, causing many of the larger ones to contain cool playset aspects to them. Eventually, I sold my collection off for the sake of space and because I wasn't really enjoying them anymore, but I miss them a ton these days and would gladly buy them up again if I had any idea where to store/display them.

There are a couple I would reacquire if I had the chance and the circumstances were right (price, budget available, etc.). First among them would be the Mighty Men and Monster Maker set... I remember creating these combos (and many others) fondly Second would be the Starbird electronic spaceship... Third would be the Navarone playset I had... -M

I remember those sooo much. I remember the monster men creator so well I'm almost certain I had my own (but possibly it was abfriendbirvrekatives). I remember someone I knew had that space ship. Remember seeing it and ads for it all the time. That fort playset looks near identical to the captain eagle set I had.

I still have my megos...including my Batcave (though no Bat-computer). I wouldn't mind having a Mego Batmobile as mine is long gone. I"m probably most nostalgic about a few things that were hand-me-downs from my brothers. Fort Apache... The Best of the West starring Johnny West.

I had the General Custer figure from the Marx set you pictured. I had one other-it was an Native American figure but I didn't think it was Geronimo (and I don't recognize the pic here, but I had lost most of the accessories for it when I was very young and only had the figure on that one, so that may be why). -M

I've had a wave of Colorform's nostalgia wash over me lately. I used to love these things as a kid, particularly any featuring Marvel and DC characters.

Oh man, Color Forms!!! I had so many and found them endlessly amusing in ways that make no sense to me as an adult. My Silverhawks one was my favorite, probably because they released the colorforms set at least a few months before they released the action figures. This was my only physical way of creating stories for the characters.

Although I didn't have the Alpha Star set, I had several other Fisher Price 'Adventure People' sets('2 guys in a jeep', 'medevac copter with two pilots, 'small plane with pilot', 'boat with wheel on bottom, two boaters/divers, and dolphin', etc.) Tonka had a few similar vehicle-and-figure combos. I got a lot of use out of those toys.

When I have kids I fully intend to buy them the Castle Grayskull playset and the full masters of the universe action figure line.

Going back even farther...3 more toys I miss... the barn door made a mooing sound every time you opened it... and one that spanned early childhood through the toddler years and beyond... -M

This was my only physical way of creating stories for the characters. I adored Colorforms. Such a simple concept, but man did I get hours and hours of entertainment out of those. I'm almost certain that I had the Marvel one in the pic I posted. I don't recall having Silverhawks or Thundercats, which is odd. I might have just gotten out of them by that time, but that seems a little early. I do recall...and I'm kinda loath to admit it...in the early 80's I would occasionally cut out images from comics that I liked and used them with my Colorforms. Basically, I probably destroyed a dozen comics or so to make my own Colorforms. Oh the humanity...

I see these sets at garage sales constantly and am always tempted to buy them for my four year old. My wife would kill me for buying her anything that takes up that much space though.

Was able to acquire this from my childhood, wanted one due to sentimental reasons, tried it when I got it, it worked, not as I remembered when I was 6, do not play with it anymore. These are some other toys I still miss. KENNERS GIRDERS AND PANELS AURORA SLOT CAR TRACKS

I didn't have the Aurora sets, but I did have some of the Hot Wheels track sets... and the SSP Smash Em Up Derby (and a few other SSP racers) which would sometimes race against Evel Knieval on his motorcycle, or... on his chopper (which after the Cap TV movies got commandeered by my Mego Captain America figure) -M
