I think that Indiana Jones and the last Crusade was the best movie of the series. There I said it. It seems for most people I've heard weigh in it's either Raiders (my favorite) or Crusade. Hard to compete with Sean Connery, I admit, but the first is so good. Also the sword vs. pistol scene.

I liked each new movie less than the previous one.
Raiders was so good that I went to see it three times in one weekend.
Temple of Doom was all right, but had already lost some of its novelty... and where was Marion Ravenwood?
Last Crusade was too comedic for my taste; on the verge of self-parody. I liked the "no ticket" scene and the bridge, and that was that. (Edit: special mention for the outstanding performance of River Phoenix as a young Harrison Ford).
Crystal Skull started well, with an unexpectedly old Indy and intriguing references to his time with the OSS, and Marion was back! But... hey, are they chasing CGI monkeys in a CGI forest while CGI nazis are eaten by CGI ants? And why the hell are we turning the mystery of Chariots of the Gods into a cheap CGI alien? This is bad! This is baaaaaaad!

Until I watch Last Crusade for the umpty-umpteenth time and then I think it's Last Crusade.

The 1st Indiana Jones is the best IMO. Me and a friend caught it as a special sneak screening here in Phoenix on a Friday night 3 m ok months before it's official release.
We hit the theater and were at a point just between start times for most pictures. We were looking at next showings and in the ticket window was a cardboard sign of the Steranko piece he did stating that there was a special screening at 8:30pm. We both looked at each and said HEY CHECK OUT THE STERANKO CARD! Instantly, that plus the title and it stating starring Harrison Ford (which we knew of him as Han Solo) in a Speilberg/Lucas production had us buying up our tickets. The theater was packed with EVERY seat full except for the very front 5 rows. We were able to get into row 4 so we didn't have to receive chiropractic neck care after. From the moment it began until the end all you heard was cheers and laughs, even for the intro theme!
Both of us were hooked and it was a very long 3 months until the official premiere where saw the movie EVERY WEEKEND for over 2 months just like we did for Star Wars. I convinced my dad and grandfather even for seeing the movie as they were both "past" the joy of movie watching in public. That they went to see Raider's twice is a true testimony to how great the movie is. They never went to see the other 2 movies on a big screen, waiting until they aired upon HBO.

Temple of Doom was a good retread of the first, but still a retread. I think I liked the female lead in this one slightly better than in Raiders, though none of them have felt especially appealing to me in the series.
Last Crusade, I've seen only on VCR with a bunch of people half watching, half talking at the same time, so I can't really judge it fairly. And I don't think I've seen any of the others past that.

The original Raiders remains my favorite (my friend Mike Hori and I sat through back-to-back showings, those being the days when you could stay through a second screening without buying a new ticket), but I love Temple of Doom and Last Crusade nearly as much. Crystal Skull was an abomination. Everyone involved in it should be embarrassed, if not ashamed.

For me, Raiders and Last Crusade are A+ movies, Templeof Doom a B+, and Crystal Skull doesn't even deserve a participation ribbon. Most of the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles episodes get B-A grades for me, except the one episode Harrison Ford cameos in, which gets an A+.

I think my favourite tv cop show is....Alien Nation.
Only lasted one season though, damn you Fox.
There, I said it.

I like all three of the '80s Indiana Jones movies a lot, but yeah, Raiders is the best. The fourth one had its moments, but overall it was a colossal let down that suffered from too much cutesy, too much CGI, and too little in the way of decent scriptwriting.

Never seen it, I'm afraid. My favourite cop shows are Starsky & Hutch From the '70s and Inspector Morse from the '90s.

Out of all of the live-action Indiana Jones content, I thinks Raiders is the only thing worth (re-)watching. The rest never should have been made as far as I'm concerned - yes, including the Last Crusade, which is getting such high praise here (that's one I went from liking well enough when it first came out to finding almost as irritating as Temple of Doom the last time I watched it). I actually wrote about this topic at greater length at the Atomic Junk Shop a few years ago,

I didn't like any of the Indiana Jones films. (Rather the opposite in fact.)
