Don't know how this is any different from artists refusing to appear in South Africa during apartheid. I really, really don't want this thread to turn into the "new" politics thread, but the above quoted text just leapt out at me and I couldn't let it go.
Sorry Confessor, It wasn't my intention to create another political thread. But it seems that anytime the name Trump Or Clinton is mentioned, it's like a bell being sounded for hostility.

No worries, Icc. The subject of comics professionals boycotting certain areas of the U.S. is obviously of interest to a community such as this, but it's kind of impossible to discuss without referring to the politics behind it. So, the discussion was always gonna go in the direction. Plus, I jumped in and started talking politics anyway, so I was as much to blame as anyone.

PS: Yes, it was only 200 “nuts” meeting in a federal building in Washington, DC, but when the president-elect cannot bring himself to denounce self-described “white nationalists” screaming " Lugenpresse," “Heil Trump!” Heil Victory!” and whose leader says of those opposed to Trump, “One wonders if these people are people at all, or instead soulless golem,” a chill should go down the spine of anyone who calls himself an American. On Monday, Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Mr. Trump, said the president-elect disapproved of all hate groups. He has not embraced these morons and acknowledged himself as being their troll in chief. Jonathan Greenblatt, the national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said that Mr. Trump should not be blamed for every hate group that invoked his name. Even if his detractors do. Incidentally Hal, did you see the list of demands Black Lives Matter sent to Obama? Did you agree with it? I'm especially interested in the part about reparations. And why can't he say so himself? And why does he have Steve Bannon as his closest (official) advisor? I agree with Jonathan Greeenblatt. The neo-Nazis have always been with us. Trump's empowerment of them since he began his campaign and his refusal to make any kind of an unequivocal denouncement of them are the problem, Jez. Greenblatt has also promised that, should the new administration order Muslims to "register" with the government, he himself would register as a Muslim. And, yes, I have seen the BLM's demands, but exactly what do they have to do with anything? Last I checked, they hadn't been elected to anything. I've only responded here because you are not headed over to the Politics thread, Jez. We now return to our "There, I Said It" programming.

Wished more people use genuine postage stamps on mail. Getting one of these individual stamps (US$14.95 face value) is hard, so getting a strip of 5 on a parcel which cost nearly $80 to post is really rare...but awesome! I made an offer to a US stamp dealer and got it

I find it fascinating looking through her various stamp albums...they're such a window into their original time and place.

I've worked for the US Post Office for 32 years. Ya seen one, you've seen them all... Just think, a piece of paper about one square inch in size fetching more than Action Comics #1. It was on display at the New York Stamp Expo earlier this year, I was there with my dad, but didn't get to swipe it

My brother and I used to collect stamps until he got into High School and we simply forgotten all about it until five years ago and decided to see whether we can unload some of them so we got undisclosed amount of cash; and one of my nephew is taking over as our Stamp Collecting and it's one of the best and educational hobby to have.

The Post Office announced today that it is going to issue a stamp commemorating prostitution in the United States. It's a ten-cent stamp, but if you want to lick it, it's a quarter.

An omnibus is really cool to look at...but I wish it wasn't so heavy.
It's awkward to read on one's bosom while on one's back on one's bed.
Thankfully regular comics do the trick.
There, I said it.

Yep Usually when I read, it's laying back in bed. Bought the Werewolf by Night Omnibus a week before Halloween and it feels like the damn thing is going to crush your sternum. Would've preferred 2-3 Epic collections if they released it in that format.
