For me, the Stallone film features the better visual depiction of Dredd’s helmet/uniform - and Mega-City One seems more akin to the comics. But the Alex Garland film is the better one for plot and all the rest of it.

Never took notice of it, but if Garland's involved, I'll have to.

The Stallone version would have got a lot more points if he had kept the helmet on. And also if they had recast Rob Schneider.
And then recast Stallone and you’ve got enough points that it’s almost watchable.

Anyone else find it weird though that both Stallone and Schneider starred in not one but two films set in a topsy-turvey futurescape? (Demolition Man/Judge Dredd)

I actually like Demolition Man quite a bit. I had completely forgotten that Rob Schneider is in it.

However in Japan, Taco Bell apparently does not exist and Pizza Hut was put in it's place

I’ve long said that Demolition Man is the one that Sandra Bullock will be remembered for.

For those who my have missed it or forgotten, an edited repeat of something I posted in June 2020:
Fun factoid: one of the scenes in Demolition Man was filmed at the office building where I worked at the time. The scene is below. In the movie it says this is taking place on Santa Monica Blvd in the middle of LA, but it's actually the Koll Center office complex (now known as Irvine Concourse) in Irvine, about a mile from John Wayne Airport in Orange County. You can see my office building most clearly at the point in the video when Wesley Snipes throws a cop out of a car.

Dredd being Dredd again: I’ve started “The Cursed Earth” saga. I’m going to make sure I pace myself with this one:

All seems so ominous in the first chapter. Sadly, the volume I have has had to legally omit the “Burger Wars” chapters due to copyright. Shame. I would have liked to have read those; the introduction in the volume offers a summary at least.

Oh, that's a shame. That episode is both hilarious and rather surreal...and features some gorgeous Brian Bolland artwork too.
