When The Chipmunks recorded their classic "Christmas (Don't Be Late)" song during the winter of 1958, guess what they wanted as a Xmas present? That's right!!!

Worst game ever I had one of those. One of the teams was the Browns. Even back then they could never win and the quarterback moved like a drunken sot. -M

Agreed. I think everyone I knew had one of those. I didn't. I thought they were stupid and boring. Funny thing is everyone I knew that had one seemed to think so too.

The Electric Football Game was so lame and after playing 10-12 times - it's broke down altogether ... and it's one of the worst game ever.

Wait- you played it 10-12 times and still wanted to play more? WHAT? When, you have three older brothers - who all played it also and that's why it's broke down after playing it 10-12 times. I guess it wasn't all that durable of a game back then if I recall it. This is the best I can remember it.

Also most pointlessly noisy game ever. Who wants to listen to a vibrating metal plate even if it's painted to look like a football field. I'm sure my parents were glad when we quickly lost interest.

Yeah, that electric football game was lame.
Strat-o-Matic sports games were much better. I think a lot of sabermetricians cut their teeth on Strat-o-Matic baseball.
And my wife still has her lava lamp from when she lived in Berkeley, 1969-71.

It still gets brought up every now & then on Baseball Think Factory, which is a heavy sabermetric site.

I owned the electric football game & also non-electric baseball, basketball & even hockey sets. None held a candle to the leagues, teams & players I invented in my head (& can still recite facts & figures about some than 4 decades later).
