Wow. That's roughly 3x the size of my collection, and I am absolutely strapped for space in my attic. How do you find and access a book you're looking for? That photo isn't representative of how my books are stored. I moved about 6 weeks ago to a new place and this was my living room after unloading the truck. This isn't even all the comics. There was another 30 or 40 boxes in another room when the photo was taken. The boxes are actually stored on custom-built tables that allow me to get into them fairly easily. Everything is sorted alpha-numeric by publisher. I can generally locate and retrieve any book in the collection in a minute or two.

I'd love to see that setup, if you ever have the time to photograph it. I'm constantly looking for ways to make my collection more space-efficient, and while my collecting goals aren't as ambitious as yours, I have seriously considered eventually owning every Batman story from 1956-2011.

Wasn't there a thread on the previous incarnation of this forum where people could share pictures of their comic room, similar to the Shelf Porn feature on the CBR site? That would be another great thread to resurrect.

I'd love to see that setup, if you ever have the time to photograph it. Seconded. Would love to see those custom built tables. It's really hard to capture the room in pics because its 360 degrees of multi-level comic boxes. The is nearly no room to stand. I can't even walk through the aisles without turning at an angle. These pics are from my old place. The new place is similar except it spills over into the living room now. Far Left: Archives and Mags; Left Center: Absolute Editions; Right Center: Manga and Digests; Right: Boxes of TPBs Shots from the lower level of the comic room The upper level boxes in the comic room

First, dcindexer, that is awesome. One of the prerequisites for my next house will be a large area that I can covert to storage/display for my collection, that will look nice and provide easy access. Just waiting for the money to get here so I can start. Anyway, here are my better runs. I've got a bunch of shorter ones too that I won't list:
Avengers & New Avengers - All issues of all volumes Avengers West Coast Amazing Spider Man 103-700 (had them all until February, but had cash emergency. still have some stragglers below 100.) Black Panther 1998 & 2005 Deadpool All issues Defenders Exiles & New Exiles Fantastic Four 100-current Incredible Hulk 102-current Marvel Team Up - All issues Guardians Of The Galaxy - All issues & Marvel Presents 3-10 Spectacular Spider-Man Vol 1 Sensational She Hulk Silver Surfer(1987) missing 12 issues Peter Parker Spider-Man Spider-Man (1990) Uncanny X-Men 143-current (94-142 were victims of my money crisis) Web Of Spider-Man - All issues Wolverine - All issues X-Factor - All issues X-Men/New X-Men/X-Men Legacy - All issues
Lots more new stuff and small runs.

My collection is pretty small compared to some others here, but I have got:
Ostrander/Mandrake Spectre Suicide Squad The Heckler Dr Fate (J.M. DeMatteis) Shade the Changing Man (Peter Milligan) Young Heroes in Love Batman Adventures (the first run by Puckett and Parobeck) Grant/Breyfogle Detective, Batman and SotB, plus lots of other Batman/Tec issues
I've mostly built up these collections over the past two or three years, and bought most of them online (or grabbed the chance while on holiday)
It was fun but I think I'll stop for now - unless another uncollected run grabs my interest!

I am impressed with some of the massive collections listed here!
I had sold off most of my collection years ago and honestly I wish I would have kept some of them. Over the past 2 years I decided to put together another FF collection and managed to obtain a nice run... Fantastic Four #155 (1975) thru #354 (1991) + Annual #12-23 All VF+++/NM! Yeah, went all anal retentive and got only the sharpest copies. And why not since this is the only long run of floppies I ever plan to own. The FF was my favorite series growing up and the mid 70's were when I first started reading comics.
I have gone all digital these days for the most part but still buy lots of trades and hardcovers. As far as digital collections go I have entire runs of... Avengers, FF, Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America and many others.

Incredible Hulk #200-467 is by far my longest unbroken run on a title.

Hmm, currently the only complete runs I have that are not collected in HCs or trades are the original 10 Charlton issues of E-man, Logan's Run (1970s Marvel) and Sword of Sorcery. Although I did something that is apparently anathema to many serious comics collectors: I had them bound.
