Synopsis: Usagi recounts two past adventures to Priest Sanshobo, one involving a snake widow avenging her husband's death, and one a parable told to Young Usagi by Kunichi.

Notes:

• This story is a combination of "Hebi" (exclusive to the collected edition of Book 7: Gen's Story) and "The Courage of the Plum" (from The Art of Usagi Yojimbo #1, by Radio Comix) with four pages of a new framing story added.
• Young Usagi
• "Hebi" does not feature Lord Hebi ("Hebi" simply means "snake" in Japanese)
• "Hebi" is also reprinted in Usagi Yojimbo Role-Playing Game (Gold Rush Games, 1997)
