Mark Crater, who posted for many many years as Winslow has passed away. I don't think he ever made the migration here, but I'm sure a number of you have interacted with him at CBR in the past.
Mark was one of the friendliest, kindest people who I have ever interacted with. He truly was the definition of what it means to be a Christian. He lived his faith humbly and non-judgmentally. That is high praise from this atheist.
I never met him. But I considered him a friend. A good friend. And I regret that I never had the chance to meet him in person.

He never made the transition from Comic Book Resources to our new site, but Winslow was a beloved member of the old CBR community. A close personal online friend I had the privilege of meeting for beer and comics talk on two occasions.
He was renowned as one of the most kind and respectful people in the community. In real life, he is former Coast Guard, a teacher devoted to his students, and a husband and father devoted to his family.
His death came as a complete shock to me. He was only 54 and we had just interacted on Facebook a couple days earlier, joking about comic films. I am incredibly saddened.

I'm shocked. Never talked to him a lot one-on-one but always had a high opinion of him for his friendly and even-tempered behaviour online and his thougtful posts. Totally unexpected. Very sad.

Sad to learn of this. While I've not had the pleasure of talking to Winslow much on CBR, I certainly remember his presence on the Community forum where indeed he came across as a friendly, non-judgmental man with a healthy sense of humour. Damn shame he passed away so early.

That's quite a blow. I have such good memories of Winslow that I was sure he must have been around these boards as well. Has it been that long?
A really good man; one who will be missed.

He took a cut in pay to become a teacher for several years until it was no longer economically feasible for him. He was one of the best, most caring people I've known in my life. There always should have been more like him around and instead there's one less.

Man, he was one of my favorite people from the old board. He'll be missed.

I don't remember him.
Not this year, but probably 2017, I'm going to try to get to Emerald City Con so I can meet a few of you.

I don't remember him very well, but he clearly meant a lot to more than a few members of the community. He sounds like a good man. RIP Winslow.
