The Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck touched me in a way I never expected any story about a duck to do so. I write about it here. Who read it, and if so, what did you think?
Also, why do you think that other funny animal licensed characters never got the kind of creative burst or attention that the ducks did? You'd think someone from, say, Merrie Melodies would have looked at what Barks was doing and think, "Hey, that, we gotta do that."
