It took me a while to get into season one, but the last two episodes sold it to me, and I'm glad those did since season two was amazing from start to finish. Waited a little to start with the current third season butI'm now bac on track.
For those who don't know, Black Sails is a Pirate TV series, probably the most ambitious one ever. It's set in a very intersting geopolitical setting, uses many elements from the Treasure Island book but totaly reinvents it. The acting is the strongest part of it, but the sets are absolutely fantastic, and the SFX for the naval battles are flawless and generous.

I'm a big fan, especially as Treasure Island is to this day still one of my favorite novels. For my money the season three opener with Black Beard was one of the coolest scenes I've ever seen on television.

I'm a big fan, especially as Treasure Island is to this day still one of my favorite novels. Be strong, the first 5-6 episodes are alright, but it really starts after that. I'm now almost up to date halfway into the third season, and the plot has already taken far more interesting turns than I would have imagined. |

I've never been a great pirate fan, even as a kid, and still haven't read Treasure Island. But it's near the top of my stack so I should get to it some time in the next few months. Maybe I'll give Black Sails a try after that.

Its a new discovery for my Lady and I, I'm only 3 or 4 episodes into the first season, but liking what Ive seen so far.
