Since Hangman #3 has finally come out, I thought that it might be pertinent to discuss this grim "re-imagining" of Archie's stable of super-heroes, though I'm not holding out much hope for it's longevity considering the current state of the company

The current state of the company ?
The Dark Circle (DC) line looks very, very good. Haven't caught a sale to read any yet but I'll snap em up when they drop the price.
Despite the schedule issues, I think Archie's going to stay with the line, even if it's not the strongest. They have the characters as well as their bread and butter with the Archie Andrew family of characters.

The current state of the company ? Archie has been having issues with funding for their various projects (the reboot of Archie mostly) and the Ken Penders debacle isn't helping much either

Ken Penders debacle ?
Archie got negative feedback trying to use Kickstarter to fund some of their line, but later backed down and said they'd fund it themselves. Other than that "alternative financing" I think they're pretty sound.

Ken Penders was a long time writer for Sonic The Hedgehog and essentially saved it from cancellation by way of the "end game saga" that incorporated the more grim elements of Sonic SATAM. He later went on to write Knuckles and developed numerous characters for it that he tried to take with him when he left

It's impressive how long Sonic has gone on, though I don't read it.
Had no idea about any of this.

I liked the FCBD preview book that they did.
This is a good reminder to stay on the lookout for some of them when I have the chance.

I'm very much looking forward to reading these.
I don't think Archie will give up on them, but they're not betting the farm on them either.
