These little peaks at the culture are always fun but I love the irony of the rich merchant losing his gem and then putting the pot that had the gem in the place where the gem was once held.

Another "ahem" GEM of a story by Stan. Nothing like a thief so smart and sneaky that they end up outsmarting themselves. Always nice to see a villain get what they deserve and I do wonder if the merchant or his family further down the generation's ever discover that the gem isn't as missing as they thought over time? Always a treat seeing Usagi enjoying himself helping others while experiencing new skills. He never takes for granted these moments and truly seems to appreciate sharing such instances with those who are showing/sharing/teaching him. This is really a type of karma/synchronicity parable in the end...
