  Published: July thru August 2001 Synopsis: "The previously un-bested bunny might be 'dead,' but his gruff rhino counterpart still has his life and will stop at nothing to save the thief Kitsune from certain death. Fortunately, Gen might get a little help from the "ghost" of his old friend. Sound confusing? I'm pretty sure the joke from Gen about the vats turning Usagi green and calling him a joker was a reference the Joker's chemical bath from Batman, which is a pretty funny shout out.

Attack of the crazy green bunny of death! A Batman reference, possible a Star Wars riff on a certain green rabbit bounty hunter and Gen meets Kitsuni. Quite a bit of fun and energy going on in this 3 part story. It also shows how strong the characterization of ALL the cast is and how important they are to the world of Usagi which Stan has created. The irascible Gen interacting with the self absorbed Kitsuni in a story that shows deeper characterization for both as they get to know and understand one another. This is why Stan is such a master of writing as well as art as he never relies upon a simple stereotype and delves deeper as to who and what a person truly is beyond their initial appearances.
