Published: May thru July 2002 Synopsis: "On their way to the arranged duel between Katsuichi and the deadly Kenshi Koji, Usagi and Koji stumble across a village besieged by bandits. As they come to the aid the downtrodden farmers and peasants, Koji and Usagi find another surprise waiting for them: Katsuichi's already there, fighting against the attacking ronin with everything he's got. But the bandits just keep coming, and it looks as though there may be more than even the combined might of the three swordsmen can handle. When strength cannot prevail, deceit will have to do!" I really loved the conversations between Katsuichi and Isao, to see that Katsuichi once had friends and to learn more of his back story gave him some true depth, and unlike the homage to Yojimbo which felt a little lack luster this homage to Seven Samurai was much more interesting.

Everyone works well together to save the village, which really sharpens the point Usagi makes in "Duel at Kitanoji" that there is so much good they could do if only Koji would put aside his challenge to Katsuichi.
