You can set your party members to function on their own using the scripts. Is scripts a PC thing? I was on PS3. I say "was", because I took it back. I'd much rather just play Reckoning again.

You could do this on the console versions as well. You basically had a handful of preset behavior's that you could set for each character. It's been two years since I played Origins, but I believe you access it on each characters character screen.

It's always something. I don't participate in Black Friday. I usually do participate in Cyber Monday though. In fact, it's when the bulk of my comics are bought these days. But this year I decided not to participate in that either. So I thought I'd go through the week without any significant purchases, and then I get my second YLOD on the PS3 today. So looks like I'll be getting a PS4 this weekend. Probably on Friday before work if I can.

Just got my PS4, and Advanced Warfare.
I think I accidentally loaded $50 into my PS+ account that I don't need. I guess I'll use it eventually.

Cyber Monday always sounded comical to me. They should change it. Anyways, I got the new Smash Bros a few days ago. It's pretty fun. There is an 8 player smash that is ridiculous. Can't play that option online though. I'm guessing for lag reasons. You can always get a few friends over and just have the rest of the slots be computer controlled. It's pretty dope.

My wife has expressed interest in a Wii for Christmas so we can play games together ("Traditional" video games aren't her thing, but she enjoys her brother's Wii when we visit her family). I'm waiting for some stupid deal this holiday season. I'd like to grab a Wii U if I can get the price down. It is backward compatible with Wii games and controllers, right? I may need to do some research.
I also bought and started Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor this weekend on Steam. OMG, it is SO GOOD. I haven't gotten that excited feeling that just makes you giddy and sucks you into a game in a long time until this one. It's like all of the good parts of Assassin's Creed wrapped into the LotR license which I ADORE, and it's extremely well-executed so far. I'm actually a little pissed off I had to go into work today instead of getting to stay home and play.

i accidentally stayed up until 4am playing Shadow of Mordor. So good. Highly recommended. The game, that is, not staying up until 4am on a work night. Now for another cup of coffee...

I have similar experiences with Dragon Age Inquisition now. (Finished my second dragon slaying yesterday evening). The fights with the dragons are pretty much the highlight so far, but I am enjoying most of the game. (Some annoying bugs and some things that I'm waiting to see where they are going.)

I picked up Super Smash Bros. Wii about a week and a half ago. Really fun game when I've had time to play.
In other news Street Fighter V is coming to the Playstation 4 and PC exclusively. Saw a leaked trailer and it looks great. Now I REALLY need to get that PS4. Too bad I don't have the money right now.

Just a quick heads up. EA is offering three free games on the PSN during the Playstation Experience, which ends tomorrow. Once downloaded, you can keep the games forever.
The games are:
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare (PS4) Mirror's Edge (PS3) Need For Speed Most Wanted (Vita)
Offer ends tomorrow evening, so grab them while you can.

Picked up Valkyria Chronicles in the Steam Winter Sale. Didn't get far in yet, but the map of "Europa" made me laugh out loud. There are a bunch of Dutch, Belgian and German towns basically randomly scattered throughout the changed map of Europe. Most impressive is Terneuzen (real life small town in the southwest of the Netherlands), which manages to be both at where Paris and where Moldova would be in the real world. (The map is changed enough from the real world to make, but the choice to use real existing towns and cities is amusing.)
Oh and Pip, Kőln is in Scotland.

This may be short-lived. I don't like that they want me to give orders to my party and the action seems really cramped. Yeah, I was super disappointed in Dragon Age... I ended up selling it back after a week or so. I thought the controls and the combat were terrible, and the story not good enough to make up for it. I greatly prefered the Reckoning.

I haven't done much of anything in this department lately. I tried both Smash Bros and Mario Kart on the Wii U we got for Christmas, but I can only be entertained so long by racing and brawling no matter how many characters. The boys are enjoying both of them, and also got Assassins Creed III on the U but, I haven't had a chance to play that yet. I have plenty of games to play that I have either started or haven't even started yet, I either don't have the time or the desire here lately, or maybe a bit of both. I did play a chapter or two of Resident Evil 5 last night, and had some beer to enjoy myself. It's the only responsible way to enjoy firearms and alcohol at the same time.

I enjoyed Arkham Asylum more than City, and I haven't played Origins yet. GREAT games, though. I agree on X-Men Legends and Marvel: UA being fantastic games, and I'm honestly surprised and disappointed at the dearth of Marvel games in years. I assume it's because many of the licenses are scattered all over, but it's been years since there has been a quality Marvel game. With the Arkham series now showing how to make a solid action/adventure game I would love to see something similar.
Also, not sure if I mentioned this here, but the wife wanted a Wii for Christmas so we could do things together, and I can't invest in old technology, so I got us a Wii U. I am really enjoying it a whole lot more than I expected to. I had written Nintendo off as being gimmicky and too focused on a younger audience years ago, but I was wrong. The quality if their software is top notch, and the games are just so fun. We are really happy with it.

Yeah, I have the wii u and I love it, I've always loved games like Mario,Donkey Kong and Zelda so it was always going to be a win for me but I've also enjoyed the Arkham games on wii, finding the controls to be much more intuitive than on the xbox.
