Beat Witcher 3. Great story and beautiful graphics. Combat and controls were kind of wonky though. Geralt could really spaz out. Better story and characters than Breath of the Wild, but I'd say BOTW is better in most other respects, especially controls and combat. Moving on to the 2 DLC expansions, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

I finished Mirror's Edge Catalyst last week. It was OK. The running is fun. The world design is much different from the original Mirror's Edge. This game is very futuristic, while the original was set in pretty much the modern day. The first game had a really interesting visual design and world design, so I was a little disappointed it was so different in Catalyst.
The story was not good. Most of the characters were very unlikable.
One of the biggest changes from the first game is the focus on combat. In the first game, fighting more than 1 or 2 enemies at once was trouble - it was usually better to run away. In Catalyst, fighting plays a much bigger role, and it’s possible to fist-fight 10+ enemies at once.

Finished Battle Chasers: the story is completely by the numbers, no surprises or reveals that you didn't see coming miles away. The combat system and crafting is a lot of fun though.

I used to have time to play video games...once again, soon. I've been devoting my spare time to other projects. I'm letting Dragon Age Origins cool off. I still love the game, just need to break it up since it's such an intense investment in focus. I picked up a lot of other games on Steam Sales and Humble Bundles over the last year or two that I haven't even installed...
Got several of the Dead Risings, got the new Devil May Cry, some Resident Evils, and that's just off the top of my head. If I can scoop up an SNES Classic Mini that will probably divert some time, too, but I simply refuse to pay a scalper for one in principle, so I will just have to checks stores until I see one.

Finished the Witcher 3 expansions. They were good. I thought Blood and Wine's visuals were much better than the main game's, and the stories were good. The colors were much more attractive. Ran into a game-breaking glitch in the fairy-tale quest though. Was supposed to have a battle with Rapunzel's ghost, but the wraith froze the moment it appeared and just hung there, not attacking and immune to damage. Only way to fix it was to redownload some files from Steam.
Good as they are, it's kind of a relief to be done with the Witcher series.

This is getting ridiculous. I decided to finally play the OG Assassin's Creed, but the game keeps crashing to the desktop. It's happened 3 times, twice when I was trying to get to cover after carrying out one of the main asassinations, forcing me to restart the assassination from the bureau both times. So annoying. If this keeps happening I'll just end up watching a video of the story on Youtube and chuck the game in the trash bin.

If you get it working I will be curious to know if you like it. I tried Assassin's Creed 2 back in the day which at least then was considered the "best" one, but I found it boring, and I could not get into it. For a game with "assassin" in the title, it sure took a while for anything to happen.

For a game with "assassin" in the title, it sure took a while for anything to happen. I play the first Assassin's Creed and liked it well enough then. It really was kind of like a new experience then. I hadn't really played much like it, if there were other games with that battle style. The original actually rewarded stealth over combat, at least in that, if you wanted to avoid confrontation, stealth would do that. Later I tried 3, with all the TV exposure it got, but never finished it. That game, certainly, took too long for anything to happen. And was not patient enough to wade through that period to get to the heart of the game. I've never had an inclination to visit the first game or any other in the franchise, since. Though we own about five of them since my oldest soon enjoys them. I think this is why Shadow of Mordor, as far as game play, and for that matter, even Arkham Asylum, didn't appeal to me, because that style of battle is just a repetitious sequence of button pushing so you can manage to fight 25 enemies at once as only one man. That style of battle is pretty unforgiving if you miss a beat.

If the game makers don't want to bother making it fun, I'm too busy to waste my time and money on their product. I realize I sound cranky, LOL, but I'm not. Just now that I have kids, I don't have spare free time to waste on entertainment that feels like a chore. I can see how the combat in Arkham and Shadow of Mordor can be overwhelming, but man, it is soooooooo satisfying when you are in the zone and knocking them out. It makes sense for Batman and I think it's a good way to translate his superior skills and tech info a game in a way that makes sense. Shadow of Mordor also rewards stealth, and the combat for large groups becomes much more manageable once you've leveled up your character.

In the end, that is why I gave up too. And then on the flipside how I can spend 300 hours (probably by now) on BotW, because it is entertaining and fun, even though sometimes it doesn't seem like I am doing anything productive toward the end game. I also agree with you with Batman, that it fits him as a character and his style, it's just I am not as good or, I choose not to practice to be better. Kind of like how I play fighter games, reallycasually and have fun. But, I'm not very good at them. I lost my SoM progress to our old dead HD on the 360, so I have at some point considered restarting another game. The opening really motivated me to want to play the game itself just to see how it all unfolds. And stealth is much more rewarding and pervasive in SoM than in Arkham Asylum, to me anyway. Which does make the battles I do have to do to advance the game, far more manageable, than say my son that can go in swords blazing and annihilate 50 orcs.

Yes. I'm playing the PC version. Don't have any other consoles which could play it. The combat is terrible, but the parkour is actually very cool, if not always reliable. And I am very interested in the setting. On the other hand, I don't think their rendition of Jerusalem is so historically accurate. With all the battles over the city during that period, including the destruction of the city walls, I guess they couldn't really show what it was like during that time and had to use the modern city as a basis, but certain things stood out to me. And it's hilarious that Damascus, Acre, and Jerusalem are all within a 10 minute horseback ride from each other. The real distances would have made a game unfeasible, but geographically accurate this is not.

Yeah, they use cool locations in the games, but that doesn't really save it if the gameplay itself isn't fun...or in your case, stable.

Beat it. Not sure why, but the crashing problem just stopped. It's probably the worst game I've beaten in years. I enjoyed the missions to gather intel, the parkour navigation, and seeing the 3 main locations recreated in such detail, but the combat is really, really bad and the portions where it is mandatory are just tedious. I've got 2 and 4 on Steam, and I think I'll get to those eventually since they're both supposed to be much better than 1, but I doubt I'll get any other game in the series. Very glad to be done with it before Super Mario Odyssey comes out.

I’m totally fed up with Nintendo and their artificial scarcity crap.
The Switch, NES Classic and SNES Classic should be readily available to anyone who wants one.
They seem more concerned with having the “hot product” instead of maximizing their profits. Which is just an ass-backwards business model in my eyes.
They’re still the king of first party exclusives (and it isn’t even close IMO) but stuff like this is always going to ensure that they play 3rd fiddle behind Sony and Microsoft.
