Well, I got my first email for Boston Comic Con this year.
Holy smokes!
You know, at this point I've met a ton of creators, so every year I expect the list of people I want to see to be smaller and smaller. But that somehow is never the case, and this year there are tons of big names coming that I am totally stoked for. Maybe the biggest year ever. Very excited.
As always, I'll be posting my list of people I plan to see along with what I am planning to bring for them to sign. If anyone has any ideas on books I should bring, feel free to post them. My rule is that if they worked on Avengers, I always get something from that signed, with other titles secondary.
The list:
Marv Wolfman - No idea where to even start with him.
Art Adams - OMG. Oh. Em. Gee. New Mutants Special #1 is a must; I had it signed already by Chris Claremont. Probably X-Men Annual #9 as well. Beyond that... something Avengers I guess, have to research it. Maybe Longshot #1, I'm not sure. Have to see what I have.
James Robinson - Firearm #1, Starman #1 and/or #0, more to be determined. Might depend on which covers I want to get signed by...
Tony Harris - Starman as far as the eye can see.
Francesco Francavilla - I'll have to see on this, because I have a bunch of variants for Afterlife with Archie by other artists. I do have a Francavilla variant for Archie vs. Predator that is absolutely killer, no pun intended.
Fred Hembeck - No idea yet, but I'll find something.
Mike Allred - Probably some of the X-Statix vs. Avengers covers.
Mark Schultz - Xenozoic Tales #1. Can't believe he's going to be at the show, to be honest.
Frank Miller - not really a fan, but... you know...
Phil Jimenez - I figure I must have something he's worked on with Wonder Woman. But I'm actually not sure. if not, I will buy something for him to sign before the show.
Jill Thompson - same as above. I'm pretty sure she worked on some of the issues of the Perez run that I haven't quite gotten to in my readathon reviews.
Jae Lee - Not sure if he's done anything I still have. I'll have to check.
Pat Broderick - Same as above.
Adam Hughes - Betty and Veronica. Maybe his Life with Archie death cover, though I don't currently own it.
Erik Larsen - don't really care that much to be honest, but he might have done something Avengers related I could have him sign. I'll have to check I guess.
And people I have met before who I want to get more sigs from:
Bernie Wrightson - Last time I got some Jonah Hex stuff signed. This time I think I can branch out more into some of his classic horror stuff. A lot of my horror books are really beat up though, so we'll see. But there are a few of his covers that I have that are amazing.
Mark Waid - The new Archie series will be the priority here since I've already had him sign my Avengers and Captain America stuff before.
Howard Chaykin - I can probably dig up some more Blackhawk covers for him to sign, and likely also some more Bronze Age stuff.
Stan Sakai - Always more cool Usagi Yojimbo for Stan to sign.
Erica Henderson - Jughead! It hadn't come out yet when I saw her last year, so I am excited to get it signed now.
