Published: March through April, 2004 Synopsis: Wandering ronin Usagi and his young companion Jotaro meet up with Katsuichi-sensei sooner than expected, and all continue on to Kitanoji Temple to retrieve the late samurai Koji’s swords. En route they encounter a town where the crowds are being entertained by a troupe of performers. But all is not what it seems, and the sinister side of this troupe’s unique abilities is shortly revealed.

Just want to give you a huge "Thank You!" for furthering the database entries beyond what I'd done. I just logged in to do the updates, fully realizing you were about to catch up to them, and was so pleased to see that my sluggishness hadn't hindered your reading!

The ending to this one was incredible, I mean the battle with the assassins was run of the mill, but the fact that both Jotaro and Usagi couldn't tell each other that they are father and son and that their reasons were so self-sacrificing was a beautiful thing to see.

Best moment in Usagi...ever. It really is, if the series had ended right here with this issue I think I would have been okay with it. I mean, I'd die inside wondering if they'd ever tell each other but it was such a perfect moment that I'd accept as an end.
