YES !!
I hope they do this with other characters / titles / concepts as well.
Those creators are killer and though it was kinda crazy, DC Challenge was all kinds of cool.
Another full retail purchase win for DC

I liked it, but my strongest memory of it is finding it very funny that Aquaman was left stuck in a desert for months on end, seemingly because none of the writers had any idea how to get him out of it, or any interest in doing so. The poor guy just kept turning up in random cameos, still in this desert, just to show they'd remembered he was there.

Likely to be a bit hit and miss with so many different creators involved, but I'll probably give it a chance. Kamandi seems to be one of the few Kirby solo creations that almost everyone likes and even "gets", so there's a much better chance that this will be a good Kamandi story than a similar exercise with, say, the New Gods would lead to a good New Gods story.

I like the idea, I like the character, and I like those creative teams. My only real gripe is that I wish at least some of the writers and artists were less established. This seems like the perfect project to give some new names a little exposure.

I hope one of the writers brings up the footage that the coyotes shot when Kamandi and Company were in Hollywood in several issues just after Kirby left. I like to think that the raw footage was edited into a cult film and Kamandi is a cult-film star to some of the communities in Earth A.D.

And the Aztec toucans. And Spirit turning into a butterfly.

I was thinking about this today but haven't seen any news about it since it was announced, anyone else heard anything about when this is coming out...or if it still is?

A brief search brought up nothing for me since the first reports in April, which all said no date had been set.
I never looked closely at the creative teams the first time, there are some really good people on there. I'm especially looking forward to the artwork from talents such as Neal Adams, Amanda Conner, Steve Rude, Walter Simonson, Ryan Sook, and José-Luis Garcia-Lopez. The writing is a little harder to anticipate, and most of them I haven't read before, but I'm curious to see what Abnett, Palmiotti, and Simone come up with. I'm a bit disappointed that it seems Keith Giffen is only writing, though - he would have been good to have as an artist, too.

As much as I love Kamandi, it really is the variety of creative teams that makes this project so exciting but I'm confounded that there haven't been any updates.
