A big budget, dark spectacle based on Alan Moore's run on the series. I'll always have a soft spot for Wes Craven's movie from the early 80's, but it was pretty cheesy even for back then. I remember reading something a couple years ago that Guillermo del Toro was really interested in doing this, but I guess he never received the support that he needed. Which is a damn shame. Personally, I think the standard superhero films are getting pretty repetitive at this point. Would love something a little different and slightly off the beaten path. Can already picture the exchange on the big screen between Swamp Thing and Arcane in Hell, and it's glorious.

I think so and I would like it to be more serious minded than the campy version of which both Heather Locklear and Adrienne Barbeau did back in the 1980's.

If done right, it could really be an awesome movie with blends of horror, adventure, romance, etc. I'd rather see this character revitalized on the big screen over the umpteenth portrayals of Batman, Superman, Iron Man, etc.

Del Toro is one of my favorites, but more often than not his projects don't pan out which is a shame. In my dreams there exists a Swamp-Thing movie done just like the classic Universal horror films.
