#2 Bugs Bunny Created By: Looney Tunes ProductionsFrom WikipediaBugs Bunny is an animated cartoon character, created by the staff of Leon Schlesinger Productions (later Warner Bros. Cartoons) and voiced originally by the "Man of a Thousand Voices," Mel Blanc. Bugs is best known for his starring roles in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of animated short films, produced by Warner Bros. during the golden age of American animation. His popularity during this era led to his becoming an American cultural icon, as well as a corporate mascot of Warner Bros. Entertainment. Bugs is an anthropomorphic gray hare or rabbit who is famous for his flippant, insouciant personality; a pronounced New York accent; his portrayal as a trickster; and his catch phrase "Eh... What's up, doc?", usually said while chewing a carrot. Though a similar rabbit character began appearing in the Warner Bros. cartoon shorts during the late 1930s, the definitive character of Bugs Bunny is widely credited to have made his debut in director Tex Avery's Oscar-nominated film A Wild Hare (1940). Since his debut, Bugs has appeared in various short films, feature films, compilations, TV series, music records, comic books, video games, award shows, amusement park rides and commercials. He has also appeared in more films than any other cartoon character, is the ninth most-portrayed film personality in the world,[4] and has his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. My Personal ThoughtsOne of the most recognizable animated cartoon characters of all time - and the most iconic. Smart, Resourceful, Witty, Full of Laughs and Having a Ball. I just can't begin to describe the antics of one Bugs Bunny and his exploits against Elmer Fudd is simply legendary beyond words. You just can't go wrong with him - his popularity is way off the charts because everyone loves Bugs Bunny and he is one of the 1st Cartoon Character that I was introduced to. Everywhere you go, his likeness is being used in all ways of life especially in TV Commercials, Movies, Television, and much much more. So Iconic ... you just can't put a price tag on him because of his immense super stardom that he brings to the table with flair and gusto. I just can't describe him adequately and because of that he's popular with everyone and people continue to talk about this rabbit for years and years. Bugs Bunny his name is stuff of Legends. Everybody Loves Bugs Bunny! I just loved this picture above you! Super Rabbit Video Clip

#1 Playboy Penguin #Created By: Looney Tunes ProductionsFrom WikipediaPlayboy Penguin is a character in the animated cartoon Looney Tunes, created by Chuck Jones in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He debuted in 1949's Frigid Hare and he re-appeared in 8 Ball Bunny. Playboy Penguin is a mute skating baby penguin that seeks Bugs Bunny for help. From his debut episode Frigid Hare, an Eskimo tries to catch him until the little penguin found Bugs Bunny and wants him to help avoid the Eskimo hunter. Afterwards, Playboy whispers to Bugs how he can have his vacation in Antarctica. In 8 Ball Bunny, Playboy Penguin either wants to go home in Antarctica or go to Hoboken to perform in the show as Bugs takes him on various misadventures and encountering a Humphrey Bogart. My Personal ThoughtsI'm very, very disappointed in Warner's Brothers / Looney Tunes Productions for having produced only two cartoons featuring this character. To me, he is so lovable, kind, happy, full of joy, and most of all one of the most innocent looking character that steals your heart forever. I just can't find the right words to describe this character and having known that he did appeared in two cartoons and I just don't understand why they ever used him more. It's baffled me ever since when I first started this series and knowing that I just wanted to ask Warner's Brothers for not making more of them. Shame on them! I just loved Playboy Penguin - one of the most adorable cartoon characters around and one thing that I liked about the special effects when they did him - every time he cries - ice cubes fall down and that's makes it memorable in Frigid Hare. 8 Ball Bunny is priceless and when I just watch these two cartoons together - you will be smiling and fill with bundles of joy seeing these cartoons together. I just wished that they did more than 2 ... I wanted 22 not 2! Playboy Penguin deserved to be ranked Number One for good riddance!

Bugs Bunny is the king of cartoons, I would say. That's a pretty shocking #1, however, though he is cute. Thundarr would have been in my top two, and Yosemite Sam would have made my top ten.

Very interesting countdown. Some of my favorite Saturday morning shows include Super Friends, Scooby Doo, Josie and the Pussycats, Thundarr the Barbarian, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends, Plastic Man, Blue Falcon and Dyno-Mutt, Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels, Speed Buggy, Jeannie, Hong Kong Phoeey, Mr. T, Dungeons and Dragons, Pole Position, The Filmation Batman, Tarzan and the Super 7. Also the live action Shazam and Isis shows. Of course I was glued to the tv on Saturday mornings with a bowl of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes! haha!

I have to say, Tarzan, Lord of the Jungle was at one point my favorite cartoon. However, since he's not an original character, I'm not sure if I'd include him on a list of my all-time favorite cartoon characters.

That's quite a list there and for the record - I watched about 3-4 hours of Saturday Morning Cartoons and I was the designated cartoon viewer keeping an eye of my family favorites so that they can all come in and watch the cartoons for a well deserved chores break. You mentioned the live action Shazam/Isis Show ... I watch that show during my lunch time and it was one of my favorites as a teenager growing up. I was 15 years old when this show came on and my Mom and Dad was chuckling when I was still watching in the 3rd season when I was 17 years of age. Glad you like my countdown ...

You only used to watch 3-4 hours of Saturday morning cartoons? Man, I was close to 6 hours every Saturday. From 6 or 6:30 AM until 12:00 or 12:30, I don't remember the exact hours. Of course, it wasn't all cartoons. I used to watch the Lone Ranger and Shazam, in there, too.
